Success University World Tour in Singapore

Hi all, I believe by now there should be a lot of posts on Success University World Tour in Singapore on Wednesday this week.

I'm glad that I was at the seminar, where I am the first group of people in Singapore to witness the new video and magazine.

This was also the first time that i saw Matt Morris (The president and founder of Success University) in person. I can feel his passion when he shared his Vision and Mission for Success University.

Success is not only measure by wealth. Success is measured by all areas of life in family, wealth, health and happiness!

I'm glad that I am part of this wonderful University of Success, where I can access so many great resources from so many highly successful people.

To be frank, the energy level at the seminar is a bit low, perhaps it was Wednesday night where everybody is tired after whole day at work.

But I am one of the few that is very motivated by what I saw and heard. Because Matt's vision resonate with mine. When he mentioned Warren Buffett donating US$37 billion to Charity, I smiled because that newspaper cutting is still paste in front of my office table since last year June.

Yes, I want to contribute back to the society, to help as many unfortunate people as possible. =D

Although Success University is focusing on Personal Development, I realized that most of the students are focusing on the monetary rewards. They joined for the huge residual income potential, and pay no attention to those wonderful PD courses available.

Therefore, I really hope to find friends who are focusing on Personal Development, who love to constantly improve oneself, and friends who see the true values of Success University, to immerse oneself in Personal Development materials. Of course I love the monetary rewards that comes together with it as well!

I wanted friends in Success University to come together to discuss the various topics of Personal Development, how to improve certain areas of their life, and not purely just to discuss how much they are earning from the commissions and how to earn more!

So if you are into Personal Development like me who believe in self-improvement, do take a look at Success University, and join me if you like to. The courses are definitely worth many times more than the monthly school fees.

Cheers!

P.S. I have taken a few photos at the seminar, will upload it here once I got them from my girlfriend's camera! :P

*** Latest updates - Uploaded the photos! =D 21 September 21:48hrs ***

You are a Genius - Unlocking the Power of the Mind

Recently, I have unknowingly keep scolding myself stupid! Whenever I make a mistake, I will scold myself stupid.. and it becomes sort of a habit. And the scary thing is, the more i scold myself, the more "Stupid" mistakes i make!

It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecies!!

Do you know that your brain is so powerful that you can literally talk yourself into anything! Even from a Genius to become a Stupid person??!!

So take note of what you have been feeding your mind every day!!

Extracted below is an article from Jim Rohn's Eleventh Pillar of Success, where he teaches us how to unlock our genius inside, and released the full potential of our brain!

This month we focus on the learning that comes through the power of the mind. Take care to feed and stimulate your brain, and you will expand your mind. A healthy brain is central to a healthy mind. Because the two are inextricably
connected, I would like to start this month by giving an overview of the astounding complexity of the brain. Many of these facts may be familiar to you, but they are important reminders of this incredible tool God gave us. We again need to see the human brain and mind with wonder, awe and inspiration.

But first, what do we mean by "learning?"

Here are how some dictionaries define it:

--the act, process or experience of gaining knowledge or skill --knowledge or skill gained through schooling or study --behavioral modification especially through experience or conditioning --to gain knowledge, comprehension or mastery through experience or study

Keep this in mind as we go through the month. Learning is gaining knowledge through various means.

Now, a little about the brain:

The brain is the equivalent of a human supercomputer. Your brain is more complicated than any computer mankind has ever made. Maximizing your brain's ability is essential to becoming the success you desire to become - because it controls who you are. It is the command center involved in and controlling absolutely everything you do. Your brain determines how you think, feel and act.

Simply put: When your brain is working at peak performance, it allows you to be your best because it controls the rest.

Here are some facts about the brain:

It is about 2% of body weight. It consumes about 20-30% of the body's energy. There are about 100 billion neurons in the brain. Each neuron or nerve cell is connected to other nerve cells in the brain. There are over 1,000,000,000,000,000 connections in the brain. Each one of these neurons is a little "learning center" capable of storing knowledge.

Needless to say, most of us have barely scratched the surface when it comes to tapping into those neurons!

There are some basic influences on the brain that shape how it functions and how far it develops. Some of these include genes, health, injury, self-talk, life experiences, stress and study (or lack of it). Notice I said that these influence the brain, but they do not determine how far you can go or what you can learn, except perhaps in the case of severe injury or mental retardation. In other words, you have the incredible opportunity to go as far as you desire!

So with such a tremendous tool at our disposal, what keeps so many from experiencing the possibilities that this tool can bring? There are some simple barriers that many people face that can have the potential to wreak havoc on our learning if we allow them to.

Barriers to Finding Your Genius

Lack of belief. Many people do not believe that they can learn, master knowledge or become "smarter." These are deeply held beliefs for many, and ultimately if you do not believe it, you will not achieve it.

Lack of knowledge. What keeps some people from learning is that they choose not to access or do not have access to knowledge. Knowledge comes from experiences, books, people and other "knowledge dispensers." We must tap into that knowledge.

Lack of desire. Some people simply do not have the desire to learn. They may be lazy, or they may not see the positive impact that learning would have on them. They have no passion inside that drives them to learn.

Lack of hard work. Gaining knowledge--learning--is hard work and takes a lifetime to master. It is an ongoing discipline that is never complete. I am getting on in years and I am still learning. I am still doing the hard work to expand my mind. It would be easy to give up and coast, but I love the challenge of continuing to learn.

So how do we overcome or break through these "barriers?" The key to breaking through these barriers is to do the opposite.

Let's look at some tools we can use to knock down those barriers:

Change Your Beliefs. It is up to you to do the work of changing your beliefs. And when you do you will be opening up new worlds - literally! This month Chris is going to talk about winning the thought battle, which will help you keep negative beliefs out and positive beliefs and thoughts in. Feed your mind with information that will change your belief. By taking part in this One-Year Plan, you are doing just that. But also ask yourself if you are doing that with belief. The truth is that you have an amazing mind with a capacity for learning that is beyond your comprehension. You must believe this. And when you do, you will be unlocking the potential of your mind!

Get the Right Knowledge. Words--if they are not true--are meaningless. I hear children say, "I read it in a book." But is it true? Just because someone says it or writes it, doesn't mean it is true. As learners, we want to get the right knowledge, not just information or opinions. It is our job to seek out information and knowledge and then test it and run it through our minds to see if it is true, and if it can be rightfully applied to our lives in order to make them better and help us succeed. We need to weigh and measure what we learn in order to gain the right knowledge. And when we do, we will be unlocking the potential of our mind!

Become Passionate About Learning. This will take some work, but the only way to do it is to begin learning about things that have an immediate impact in your life. When you learn about a new financial concept that helps you earn money or get out of debt, that will get you fired up. When you learn about a way to communicate that helps you sell more product, that will energize you. When you learn about how to interact with your family in a healthy way and your relationships get better, that will inspire you! Become passionate about
learning. And when you do, you will be unlocking the potential of your mind!

Discipline Yourself Through the Hard Work of Study. Learning will take work. Until someone comes up with modules that can plug into your mind and give you instant access to knowledge, you are on your own, and that takes work. The process of learning is a long one. Yes, we can speed it up, but it is still a process of reading, listening, reviewing, repetition, applying the knowledge, experiencing the outcomes, readjusting, etc. Simply put, that takes time. Slowly but surely, when you discipline yourself, you gain knowledge and learn. And when you do, you will be unlocking the potential of your mind!

Learning is possible, no matter what your age. You are never too young or too old. Your mind was created to learn and has a huge capacity to do so. This week, make a commitment to unlock the potential of your mind!

Next, Chris is going to talk to you about the attitudes of successful learners.

Have a great week!

The Top 3 Ways to Overcome Procastination!

Wow... time flies! Its has been so many days since i last posted. I am still making some background changes, but meanwhile i am busy preparing for Chinese New Year and spending time with the girl of my dream.

So please pardon me as I spend more time with my family and loved ones for the next few days ya! But still, I would like to share the article below on Procastination with everyone.

Happy Chinese New Year!!

Cheers!!!

P.S. I still can't help it but go back and watch the huggies video one more time! This is the link if you missed it. http://internetsuccessjournal.com/2007/02/dont-worry-be-happy.html

Below is the excerpt from Week 24 of the Success University Weekly Success Plan!

Hi there, Chris Widener here.

The Top 3 Time Wasters and the Top 3 Ways to Overcome Procrastination

I want to take my space this week to talk about what I believe are the top three time wasters and the top three ways to overcome procrastination. Some of these time wasters will be those you find at work and some at home. These are the things that I have found to be almost universal. So, let's take a look:

The Top Three Time Wasters:

1. Television. Yes, the old one-eyed monster. Now, before you write this off, saying, "Chris, I just don't watch much TV," let me have you do a short exercise. Think about how much TV you watch. Go through each day, from Sunday to Saturday. For example: Sunday (one hour on Meet the Press, 3 hours for football). Monday (Half hour morning show, one hour news, half hour sitcom), etc. Add it up. Be honest! Do you know what I found was the average amount of television watched per week in rooms full of "busy professional people who didn't watch much TV?" 20 Hours!

Now think about this. That is 1,000 hours a year or 25 full work weeks! What could you accomplish if you had an extra 25 work weeks a year?

So, how can you overcome this time waster? Here are a few
ideas:

Get rid of the TV. Yes, that is exactly what I said. I did just that on January 1st, 1989, and have never looked back.
When people ask me how I get so much done I simply tell them that I have 1,000 hours a year more than they do!

At the very least, cut back on your TV viewing. Be proactive and take control of how much you watch. Budget your time.
Cut some shows out (believe me, most shows can be cut out and your life won't suffer!).

2. Telephone calls. The phone is what I call the "great interrupter". There is this very weird, almost magical effect that a ringing phone has: Like pre-programmed zombies, we "must" answer it. Try something the next time you have someone in your office and the phone rings. Just keep talking as though you don't hear it. Watch the person you are with nervously look over at the phone and then back at you before finally asking, "Do you want to answer that?"
Even though it would take away from them, they expect you to answer the phone!

The fact is that you do not have to answer a ringing phone.
Especially in this day and age of voice mail, you can let the phone ring through and schedule a time at regular intervals to return important calls (one side benefit is you will be amazed at how much time you save by not having to work your way off the phone with unsolicited sales calls).

How can you avoid wasting time on the phone? Here are a few
ideas:

Don't always answer it. 'Nough said.

Schedule your calls into time frames. Make all of your calls during regularly scheduled times. This will keep you from "spur of the moment" calls that distract you.

Know before you call what you want to talk about, talk about it, and then get off the phone. When you call someone, say, "Hi there, I wanted to talk to you about XYZ." Then talk about it. When you are done, say, "Well, I know you are busy and I have some things to get done too, so I'll let you go."
Bingo - you're off the phone!

3. Email. Email is the new phone. Except much worse. Why? A few reasons. Some of it is spam, but the main reason is because people can't type as fast as they can talk. Many times when someone writes me an email that I know will take a long response, I either call them or write an email that says, "Call me. It would be better to talk about this."

Another reason is just the volume of email we get. And the forwarded jokes from your aunt in Omaha. Just sorting through this takes time. (By the way, the best way to get off of Aunt Margaret's email list is to politely ask. Just tell her that you are trying to cut down on email and ask if she will take you off the list. It works! I did it with my own mother and she still talks to me!)

Some ideas for cutting out email time wasting:

Schedule email reading and responding. Depending on how much you get each day, maybe you do it once per day, maybe three times. You don't have to jump every time the inbox chimes!

Be ruthless about what is important. Not everything is.
Delete it and move on. Especially delete anything from Aunt Margaret that says, "Fw: Very funny - you will love this!"

The Top Three Ways to Overcome Procrastination:

1. Overcome your fear. Jim made a great point about fear. He is right. Much procrastination is because we fear things. A lot in life can be accomplished as we dig deep into who we are and what drives us. Do you have fears that cause you to procrastinate? Do some internal work and find out what you are really afraid of. Then face that fear. Get some help from a coach or counselor if you need it.

2. Get motivated. Motivation is something we have to work at. Read books, listen to tapes, go to seminars, and hang out with exciting people. Do whatever you can to stay motivated. It is much easier to get down to business when you are motivated than when you aren't.

3. Just start. Just begin doing what you said you need to do. Tell yourself you are going to just do 10 minutes. Then you'll quit. What happens though, is that you don't quit.
Much of the problem with procrastination is just starting.
So, just start!

Hope these ideas help you this week in getting over procrastination and in avoiding the big three time wasters!

Questions for Reflection:

Q. What are your major time wasters? Why?

Q. Are your time wasters usually of the "urgent" kind or the pleasurable nature?

Q. Of the urgent kind, which come up most often? What about the pleasurable kind?

Q. What is the major reason you procrastinate? What can you do to overcome it?

Q. Of the three best ways to overcome procrastination, which works best for you? Is there a better way that works for you? What is it?

Action Points

1. List the ways you waste time, in the greatest to least order for the problems they pose for you. Spend some time this week being specifically aware of these and do what you can to say "no" to them, focusing instead on your priorities.

2. Take some time to look forward at upcoming things due and work a little on them so they do not become urgent later on.
As you do, work as little as possible on those things that are telling you they are urgent now. This will begin the process of eliminating the "urgent" from your life and moving you to the important.

3. Spend some time this week working against the "pleasurable" that you spend time on instead of your priorities. Specifically turn away from them in an act of discipline.

4. Take specific action this week to watch less television and spend that time on other important things around the house.

5. Work on how well you handle phone and email time. These are major time wasters, so get a hold of them!

See you next week!

How Do You Manage Your Time?

Below is an excerpt from Week 22 of the Success University Weekly Success Plan. With proper Time Management, you can achieved much more things and spend more times with your loved ones.

***************************************************

The Myth of What We Manage by Chris Widener

Perhaps it is merely semantics, but an underlying problem I find that people have as it relates to the success in their life lies in a proper understanding of what exactly it is they manage. Think about it. We have time management (in fact, I present a seminar on this very topic, some of which is excerpted below), and financial management, and relational management, weight management, career management and many, many more.

The fact is though, that we don't manage any of those things. What we do manage is ourselves, and how we relate to those things. We don't manage time. Time clicks by, second by second, whether we do anything or not. What we do is manage ourselves, and our activities, as the time passes. We make choices as to what we will do and be involved in. The problem as well as the solution lies not with time, but with us.

So as we live our lives and pursue success, one of the keys to grab onto is the idea that the most important thing we can manage isn't a thing at all - it is ourselves!

How then can we manage ourselves? Here are some thoughts.

Make sure that the above is firmly engrained in your thinking: I only manage myself. I can choose how I will act and react in every situation. Dwight D. Eisenhower said, "The history of free men is not written by chance, but by choice, their choice."

Know your priorities. Do you know from top to bottom what your priorities are? Have you decided what the top ten things are that you want to spend your time on? How about with your money? Only after you know these things can you properly manage yourself into choosing to live in line with your priorities.

Learn to say "no" with a smile on your face. Here is where most of us fail. We do not choose to say "no" to those things that are not a matter of priority (the reason "why" is another article and probably a few counseling sessions at that!). Someone calls us up and asks us to do something for them (usually because they haven't managed themselves and would like our help picking up the pieces) and we say "Uh, I guess so." Then what? We usually kick ourselves for the rest of the day. "Why did I ever say yes?" Instead, practice this, "Gee, I am really sorry but I am not going to be able to be involved this time. I am sure you will be able to find somebody though." Go ahead and try it right now. Weird, isn't it? That is because we don't say it very often.

Schedule your priorities into your schedule, budget or whatever structure governs that particular area of your life. For example, do you have a financial budget that you yourself set? Then do you first and foremost allocate your money in that way, say at the beginning of the month? If you do, you will eliminate even the opportunity to blow your money on impulse decisions and expenses because your money has already been committed to the priorities of your own choosing. The same principles apply to your management of time.

Remember, one of the greatest gifts God gave us is the ability to choose. And we can choose to manage ourselves appropriately according to our priorities. As we do, we will find ourselves feeling less and less of the personal pain and frustration we sometimes feel when we are out of control and not managing ourselves based on our priorities.

Success University Weekly Ezine 13

Wow, its been quite a while since I last share the wonderful information from Success University Weekly Ezine "First Bell", so here it is.

**********************************************

* Lifestyle *
By Wendy Robbins

Expect Miracles

Experience yourself as the miracle you are. Thank yourself for being so amazing. What is possible for you if you choose to be conscious, aware and mindful?

Open your mind and see what is possible for you.

We think about 60,000 thoughts a day. There are 100 billion galaxies, each with, on the average, 100 billion stars; our brain has 100 billion cells.

Our earth is at least 4.6 billion years old. The universe is at least 15 billion years old. There are about 10 billion trillion planets.

We live on the edge of a distant spiral arm of 40 billion stars known as the Milky Way.

Our genes are millions of years old; some are billions of years old. A single cell in the human body is doing about six trillion things per second, and it chooses to know what every other cell is doing at the same time.

Every cell in the body contains the same master DNA library of genes as every other cell of the body.

Every one of our 100 trillion cells contains the complete instructions on how to make every part of us. We are a miracle.

We are perfection.

How funny that we would trust the small voice inside that says we are not enough. We are perfection. When you think about all this, how can you not surrender yourself to the creative heart/mind/soul/being who orchestrates the universe?

Every cell supports each other, and is nourished by every other cell. The cell is in flow, and the flow is the essence of life. Our cells are more conscious than we are. They know how to support, to be a team. They can depend on each other. They work together in service to the whole.

The truth is, all creation is one body, one person, one being, whose cells are connected to one another within a medium called consciousness.

We are predisposed to great genius and riches in spite of our small egos telling us we are something other than who we truly are.

CHOOSE WEALTH. Marianne Williamson is credited with saying, "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure... We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually who are you not to be?"

Wake up your life.

An unaware life - a sluggish, dimmed life is not big enough to hold you anymore. It's time to wake up. Simply BE. And observe your way of being with everyone - see what is mirrored back. Look at the positive and negative. If you desire love, give love. Really give love. Observe, watch what happens when you are really Being Love.

If you are tired of being a victim - simply accept responsibility for everything in your life and watch the stories naturally changing. The seemingly negative stories and lessons always seem to lead to liberation, peace, true freedom if you are aware, and awake - joy will be there as a reminder. Change your programming. Don't obey your programming anymore. Unless it's the program called Awareness. Joy. Bliss. Awake. Forgiving.

What makes you feel insecure? Money, health, love, education... what is it? Are you insecure because you don't feel like you have enough money? Or, that you are not loved? Or, that you never finished college so you feel inadequate? None of that is true. Not even for a nanosecond. Nothing outside of yourself makes you feel anything. Nothing outside of you makes you insecure.

What makes you feel less is all in your head, in your programming.

Change your mind and you will experience everything differently. Yet nothing has changed - except you. You don't buy into your story anymore. Otherwise why would one person with little money in the bank feel fully secure and taken care of and another could have a million and feel insecure. The difference is their programming.

You can't change your insecurity by doing anything outside of you. No amount of money, no face-lift, no new car, no new relationship will create the long-term results you are looking for.

Insecurity is taught.

Realize, fully that insecure people taught this insecurity to you when you were very young and impressionable. You bought into their reactions, behavior, and panic when the outside world didn't conform to a certain pattern. You learned to express emotional turmoil or hid it and it was called insecurity. It may have played itself out as defensive, closed, hidden, fearful or panic. You learned to react big time. You learned not to like or accept being insecure - so you became withdrawn or fought others making them wrong and making sure you came out as the "right" one.

You did or do everything in your power to change the outside world mistakenly thinking you'll be more secure that way - sure, more money, bigger, faster car, nicer house... you become an approval suck, desperate for someone's attention and approval to make you feel better about you. Anything it takes to make the insecure feelings go away.

Offer yourself relief right now.

Understand that doing these things doesn't make the insecurity go away. It solves nothing. The answer is only within.

Envision the same circumstances that hurt you and now imagine it as a neutral event. It's not personal. It just is what it is. See the gift in now.

Before it was a mistake, now it's a lesson. Before it was someone doing something to you, now you own your power.

You don't need to hold others in such a rigid pattern that they can't breathe and be themselves - flawed, scared, doing their best, spontaneous, sometimes unkind, unaware, not mindful, or not perfect. And that's OK, it's more than OK - it is what it is.

So relax, and accept that it's great to be authentic moment by moment. Be a transformer from negative to positive - in love with no pre-defined rules.

Now you've birthed a new belief.

Success University Elective Course - Conquer Fear by Lisa Jimenez

Have you ever written down your goals, derive a perfect plan and after working hard for a few months, you did something just before you going to succeed and sabortage the whole thing?? You don't know why it happens, but it always happened!

I have this experience myself. Whenever I am going to achieve my goals, Something will happens. Some very urgent matter i need to attend to and have to leave my project one side, or I made some stupid mistakes and it killed all my previous efforts, or I simply switched off.. refusing to think or work..

After listening to the one and a half hour audio on "Conquer Fear" by Lisa Jimenez (Success University Elective Short Course), I can relate to it on my personal experience. It explains that the 2 core Fears that we have,

1. The Fear of Failure
2. The Fear of Success

are affecting our life. The limiting beliefs that come with the fears cause us to fail without us even knowing it.

I like to highlight the Seven Truths of Fear.

1. Fear is the dominant problem in your life today.

2. Fear is a gift that was instill in you as a mean of protection and a way to bring you closer to god.

3. When you run from or deny your fear, You leave the gift unopened.

4. When your fear of success or fear of failure is exposed, you break through their control over you.

5. Your belief system is the driving force of your behaviour and your results.

6. Your everyday habits are broadcasting your belief system, your fear and your un-met mean loud and clear.

7. Change your belief and you change your behaviour. Change your behaviour and you change your results. Change your results and you change your life.

Do not be afraid to face your fears, tell your spouse, your close friend and even yourself of your real fears. Once you confront your fears, you will have control over them and your life.

Success University Weekly Ezine 10

Hi, as promised yesterday, below is part two of Better Health from our Success University's Weekly Ezine "First Bell". As always, if you like to see the whole Ezine, just click on the link and subscribe for free.

**********************************************

* Better Health *
By Dr. Christopher Guerrero

Turning Off The Fat Genes!

(Part Two-Please see last week's edition for Part One)

Another one in four people cannot taste PROP and are called "taste blind." Their problem is they may tend to overeat, making up in quantity what they are missing in taste. If this includes you, and you tend to be indiscriminate in what you're eating, you'll want to take care to emphasize fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and beans, and to be very cautious about fatty foods and their hidden calories.

* A gene on chromosome 7 makes leptin, the appetite-taming hormone. In 1997, English researchers reported the case of two cousins who became extremely obese very early in life. They demanded food continuously and ate much more than their siblings. At age 8, one weighed 189 pounds. She had so much trouble walking she had to have liposuction of her legs. Her cousin was only two years old but already weighed 64 pounds. It turned out they shared a rare mutation blocking the leptin gene. With no leptin to curb hunger, their appetites were voracious.

You are not likely to have this same gene abnormality. However, your leptin may not be working perfectly either. Very-low-calorie diets disrupt its appetite-taming effect, causing your appetite to run out of control. The key to keeping leptin working right is to avoid severe calorie restrictions. If you eat at least 10 calories per day per pound of your ideal weight, you are unlikely to run into serious problems.

* A gene on chromosome 8 builds LPL, the key enzyme that stores fat in your cells. It waits along the walls of the tiny blood vessels that course through your body fat, and its job is to extract fat from your bloodstream and pass it into your fat cells for storage. If your LPL is doing its job a little too well, you can change this genetic tendency by choosing foods that have little or no fat in them. Once again, vegetables, fruits, legumes, and whole grains are your best friends.

* The hormone insulin, coded on chromosome 11, is part of your body's system for increasing your metabolism after meals. Depending on the type of foods you choose, you can help insulin spark a pronounced after-meal burn that releases calories as body heat rather than storing them as fat. Low-fat, vegan diets, along with regular exercise, make insulin more efficient.

* Believe it or not, exercise aptitude is largely biological, too. People who love to go for a five-mile run at the crack of dawn are genetically different from other people. They are endowed with a better capillary network that brings oxygen to working muscles and a more efficient fuel-burning mechanism. If you did not get these genetic advantages, you can do the next best thing. If you begin a regular exercise program and stick with it, your muscle cells begin to look more and more like those of natural athletes.

There is no need to be daunted by your family heritage. Yes, some of us will always be bigger and others smaller. But with a healthy, low-fat diet and regular physical activity, your genes can stop working against you and start working for you.

Turning Off The Fat Genes!

"Stay away from the f-words: fried foods, fatty foods and fast foods." - athlete Florence Griffith Joyner

Nutrition Tip of the Week: Most Adults Do Not Get Enough Calcium

Did you know three out of four American adult's don't meet their daily calcium needs?

Calcium helps keep bones and teeth strong and helps muscles to contract and the heart to beat.

A lack of calcium results in the bone-thinning disease osteoporosis, which affects millions of American men and women. A good reason to try and get the recommended 1,200 - 1,500 milligrams each day.

Contrary to popular belief, the best source of calcium is not dairy products such as milk, yogurt and cheese. Although there may be more milligrams of calcium in dairy products - the calcium found in dairy is not readily useable by the human body.

The best source of calcium has always been dark green vegetables. The calcium in vegetables is already in a fully digestible state, plus it's combined with all the other nutrients necessary for optimum absorption, unlike calcium found in dairy products.

Weight-bearing exercise also helps strengthen bones. Include walking, running, dancing or other physical activity most days of the week to keep your bones strong.

Turning Off The Fat Genes: http://www.maximizeyourmetabolism.com

"It doesn't make any difference what I eat. Weight problems just run in my family. It's all genetic." These are common excuses, but genetic research has just shot them down in flames.

Genes do influence our size and shape, but studies clearly show that if you change your diet and lifestyle, you can override hereditary effects to a great degree. Contrary to popular understanding, genes are not dictators; they are committees. They do not give orders; they make suggestions. You can counteract your fat genes and boost your thin genes.

We often think of genes as unchangeable because, when it comes to eye color or hair color, they really are decisive. If they call for blue eyes or brown hair, that's it. But the genes that establish your size and shape are much more flexible.

They need to be able to adjust your appetite and your calorie burning, depending on whether food is plentiful or not, and whether you are working hard or resting. Unlike eye or hair color, your body has to be able to change its composition from minute to minute, from day to day.

Although your chromosomes are extraordinarily complex, there are just five key gene groups you need to know about: *Taste genes determine the foods you crave. In taste experiments, scientists use a test substance called PROP (6-N-propylthiouracil). About one in four people can taste its bitterness very strongly. These people avoid grapefruits and never go near black coffee.

Although their acute taste sense is generally an advantage, the downside is they may avoid healthy vegetables, such as broccoli or cabbage, that have a hint of bitterness. If this group includes you, you'll want to find ways to flavor these healthy vegetables so you will include them in your routine.

Do You Have Your WHY?

Whether you have been in the Industry of Network Marketing for a day or ten years, the steps and procedures are the same. Those same steps come into play if you are planning to build your home based business on the Internet.

The stairways to success in both arenas have the same stairs. We get to the top, one step at a time. There are no short cuts; the cost for success can not be gotten at bargain basement prices.

You will pay a price to succeed and you will pay a price to remain the same. You will have a modest investment to make in your business, an investment of time and money.

So what will give you that "Eye of the Tiger" look and feel in your life? The answer is easy, it's YOUR WHY! Why are you here?

Most people tell me they start a business from their home for the money! Not good enough!! Money ends in a Y, what is your WHY? Why do you want money? Need help? Here is a list of reasons I have in my life and some I have heard through my travels on these stairs to success:

  • A better home

  • A new car, TWO new cars

  • Helping your aging parents

  • Being able to send your children to the college of choice not what you can afford

  • Taking more than one vacation a year

  • Time Freedom

  • Freedom from debt

  • Donating to your Church or favorite Charity

  • Having the time to spend with those you love most.

You MUST know your WHY. It is what helps you get up and dust yourself off when life throws that curve ball and you have to bite the dust to avoid it.

Your WHY helps you pick up the phone and dial that one more call for the day. Your WHY is what helps you get through those FEARS.

Know what you want. Have a clear vision of where you want to go. Get a game plan a road map and plot it out. Keep your WHY in your sites and around you, get posters and pictures of your WHY or WHY’S. We think in pictures not words. You will never get what you want, you will only get what you picture.

Surround yourself with those pictures, get a road map (Your Goals) find a mentor and coach and it will be "Katy bar the door"!

Get your objectives established. You must have a direction and target to get to any destination.

Having a WHY is the FUEL.
Your GOAL or GOALS are the HIGHWAY.
And SUCCESS UNIVERSITY is the VEHICLE.

If you want "THE EYE OF THE TIGER" know what your WHY is and how you are going to get it.

Set your GOALS, find a MENTOR and remember there is no achievement without a goal.

You must know what you want, decide on your objectives and destination and how you are going to get there. Write it down and if you can’t figure out a game plan, find a mentor that will help you.

Look for someone who is where you want to be and ASK.

That’s what we did, we asked then we followed to the letter the advice we were given.

You can have it all!

You can do what the “nay sayers” said you couldn’t.

Reach deep within to that burn, that burn that keeps you up and going. As my dear friend Bobby Minor told me, "If your WHY doesn’t make you CRY, it’s NOT BIG ENOUGH!” Is your WHY that big?

Latch on to your why and hang on for dear life! Success is around the corner, and it has YOUR name on it…

Know what you want and why you want it!

And don't let anyone, ANYONE, steal your DREAM!

It's your DREAM LIVE IT!....

DREAM BIG!!!

Jim Rohn's Third Pillar of Success: Health

Part Four - Exercise

Welcome to the last week of Month Three with a focus on Health! This month has been a great one as we have focused on all the different areas of health and how being healthy in a holistic way will propel us even further down the road to a successful life.

This month when we've looked at health, we've looked in the context of humans consisting of three distinct parts or
layers: the Body (the physical nature), the Soul (the mind, will and emotions) and the Spirit (the part of us that transcends this world and communes with God).

We've covered these three layers in four different parts this month:

1. Spiritual Health - Three weeks ago we looked at the benefits and importance of developing a vibrant spiritual life and some easy methods to apply that can help take your spiritual life to a deeper level.

2. Emotional Health - The mind, will and emotions. Two weeks ago, we covered the importance of a healthy soul - specifically the mind, the will and the emotional aspects of life. We will look at how our inner person is so vital to making sure we live the kind of life we desire. We will learn how our emotional life can become healthy, strong and lively.

3. Physical Health - Nutrition. Last week, we began a two-part look at the body and physical health and we started by concentrating on the area of nutrition. It is very important to make sure that we fuel our body properly because our body gets its energy from the foods we eat, just as a vehicle runs off of the fuel we put in it. If we put the wrong kind of fuel into our body, it will not run properly. If we put the right kinds of foods in, it will run like the strong engine of an expensive sports car!

4. Physical Health - Exercise. This week we will look at the very important area of exercise. This is the area that most people initially think of. "I need to exercise", is the first thought that occurs to them when thinking of health.
And this is true, we do need exercise, and today we will take an even more in-depth look at this important topic.

This week we are looking at physical health again, with the focus on exercise. I am going to give you the benefits of exercise, and Chris will give us a few tips for getting a simple exercise program up and running.

This week I want to give you a good understanding of just how important physical exercise is. Chris is going to talk about the "how's" of exercise below, and those are important
- very important - but the underlying foundation for exercise - to really get us to take it seriously - are the "why's" of exercise. Why should we exercise? Why is it important? We have been told many times how important it is and yet so many people do not exercise. Why?

I believe it is imperative to understand the benefits of exercise and why we would do well to adopt a lifelong program of physical exercise that keeps us in tiptop physical health. You've heard me teach in my seminars that we should treat our body like a temple, not a woodshed.
Because the mind and body work together, your body needs to be a good support system for the mind and spirit. If we take care of our bodies, they can take us where we want to go with the power and vitality to get there.

So lets take a few minutes here and I'll give you my 7 Major Benefits of Physical Exercise:

1. Physical exercise strengthens your cardio vascular system and helps support your skeletal muscular system. The two major systems that keep you in shape physically are put into action and driven to health when you work out and exercise physically. A good workout gets the blood pumping, moving throughout your body, taking those nutrients where they need to go. A good workout gets your lungs working hard and expanding their ability to take in and effectively use the oxygen meant to funnel through your body. Working out gets your heart pumping hard and strengthening itself so it can continue to beat strong and hard for many years to come.
(Just do the math: Have you ever considered that a heart that beats an average of 70 beats per minute will beat 2,575,440,000 times in a 70-year life!? That is over two and a half billion times! You need to keep it in working order to go that long!). A good workout develops and maintains strong muscles so they can carry your body around and remains a good support for the rest of your life! Can you see how important it is, if you want to succeed and achieve a well-balanced life of health, to give a priority to physical exercise? It is imperative we take good care of our body because that is the only place we have to live.

2. Physical exercise raises your metabolism and helps keeps your body more finely tuned. Combined with the nutritional aspect we covered last week, these two keep your body as a system, humming along like the engine of an expensive sports car. Among other things, having a higher rate of metabolism makes your body work more efficiently, burning fat in the proper way and helps keep you at the proper weight. One of the most important areas of physical health is to have a properly functioning metabolism and a good workout routine can be a major contributing factor in getting your metabolism in the right spot. If you don't feel well, you probably won't do well, so invest the time in a good workout plan.

3. Physical exercise relieves stress. You know as well as I do that going about our lives in this day and age is stressful. There are so many factors that can cause stress for us, and the pressures can build the more successful we become. As you achieve more, there is more responsibility.
More responsibility can produce more stress. Participating in a regular workout program helps burn off stress. Your body actually produces stress-relieving chemicals that are designed to bring your body into a state of physical-emotional balance. This is done when we get our bodies into a vigorous state of physical exercise. So, if you want to have a little less stress in your life - exercise more - it helps!

4. Physical exercise helps you sleep better. Our bodies, while designed for action, are also designed to sleep regularly. Often because of other factors in our lives, many people today do not sleep as they were intended to. Foods we eat can interrupt our sleep. Stress can keep us from getting the sleep we need. But exercise can help counter-balance that. Good, hearty workouts can and will help your body come to a healthy state of exhaustion, which in turn helps you sleep better.

5. Physical exercise helps you feel better. People who are in a regular exercise program feel better about themselves.
Their bodies are healthier, and as they go about their day they have more energy and are more alert. It makes sense, doesn't it? When we treat our body right, we feel better.
And we feel better in all different kinds of ways:
emotionally, spiritually, etc. Remember, all of the three areas of our bodies are tied together and have an affect on one another.

6. Physical exercise helps us look better. Hey, who doesn't want to look better? We all do! A good exercise program can do that. Good vigorous exercise on a regular basis will help you lose fat, tighten skin and firm and tone your muscles.
Done right, combined with eating right, you will look great in no time! And let's face it, looking good will make you feel better - there is an emotional connection. Studies also
show that better-looking people as a general rule do
better in business. As much as people say it isn't right to judge a book by its cover, many people do, so we should give ourselves a better chance at business by making our cover healthy and fit - and better looking. So make sure your outside is a good reflection of your inside.

7. Physical exercise enables us to live longer. This of course is the best benefit. Obviously there are no guarantees in this life, but the fact remains that those who maintain a healthy state of physical fitness live longer than those who do not take care of their bodies. We should all have as a goal the idea that we will live long and healthy so we can achieve all we were meant to achieve here, as well as give ourselves fully to our families and those who love us and depend on us. A good long life, filled with love and success is what we should all shoot for, and maintaining our physical bodies is an integral part of that!

There you have them. Seven great benefits you receive from keeping your body in great shape through exercise!

We have covered a lot in this month of health. Take it to heart. Gain some ground on your health this month and in the coming year. You will be glad you did!

Until next week, let's do something remarkable!
