Maintaining Honesty and Integrity

For a leader, honesty and integrity are absolutely essential to survival. A lot of business people don't realize how closely they're being watched by their subordinates. Remember when you were a kid in grammar school, how you used to sit there staring at your teacher all day? By the end of the school year, you could do a perfect imitation of all your teacher's mannerisms. You were aware of the slightest nuances in your teacher's voice - all the little clues that distinguished levels of meaning that told you the difference between bluff and "now I mean business".

And you were able to do that after eight or nine months of observation. Suppose you had five or ten years. Do you think there would have been anything about your teacher you didn't know?

Now fast forward and use that analogy as a manager. Do you think there's anything your people don't know about you right this minute? If you haven't been totally aboveboard and honest with them, do you really think you've gotten away with it? Not too likely. But if you've been led to believe that you've gotten away with it, there might be a good probability that people are afraid of you, and that's a problem in its own right.

But there is another side of this coin. In any organization, people want to believe in their leaders. If you give them reason to trust you, they're not going to go looking for reasons to think otherwise, and they'll be just as perceptive about your positive qualities as they are about the negative ones.

A situation that happened some years ago at a company in the Midwest illustrates this perfectly. The wife of a new employee experienced complications in the delivery of a baby. There was a medical bill of more than $10,000, and the health insurance company didn't want to cover it. The employee hadn't been on the payroll long enough, the pregnancy was a preexisting condition, etc, etc.

In any case, the employee was desperate. He approached the company CEO and asked him to talk to the insurance people. The CEO agreed, and the next thing the employee knew, the bill was gone and the charges were rescinded. Then he told some colleagues about the way the CEO had so readily used his influence with the insurance company, they just shook their heads and smiled. The CEO had paid the bill out of his own pocket, and everybody knew it, no matter how quietly it had been done.

Now an act of dishonesty can't be hidden either, and it will instantly undermine the authority of a leader. But an act of integrity and kindness like the example above is just as obvious to all concerned. When you're in a leadership position, you have the choice of how you will be seen, but you Will be seen one way or the other, make no mistake about it.

One of the most challenging areas of leadership is your family. Leadership of a family demands even higher standards of honesty and integrity, and the stakes are higher too. You can replace disgruntled employees and start over. You can even get a new job for yourself, if it comes to that. But your family can't be shuffled like a deck of cards. If you haven't noticed, kids are great moral philosophers, especially as they get into adolescence. They're determined to discover and expose any kind of hypocrisy, phoniness, or lack of integrity on the part of authority figures, and if we're parents, that means us. It's frightening how unforgiving kids can be about this, but it really isn't a conscious decision on their part; it's just a necessary phase of growing up.

They're testing everything, especially their parents.

As a person of integrity yourself, you'll find it easy to teach integrity to your kids, and they in turn will find it easy to accept you as a teacher. This is a great opportunity and also a supreme responsibility, because kids simply must be taught to tell the truth: to mean what they say and to say what they mean.

"Praise is one the world's most effective teaching and leadership tools. Criticism and blame, even if deserved, are counter productive unless all other approaches have failed."

Now for the other side of the equation, we all know people who have gotten ahead as a result of dishonest or unethical behavior. When you're a kid, you might naively think that never happens, but when you get older, you realize that it does. Then you think you've really wised up. But that's not the real end of it. When you get older, you see the long-term consequences of dishonest gain, and you realize that in the end it doesn't pay.

"Hope of dishonest gain is the beginning of loss". I don't think that old saying refers to loss of money. I think it actually means loss of self-respect. You can have all the material things in the world, but if you've lost respect for yourself, what do you really have? The only way to ever attain success and enjoy it is to achieve it honestly with pride in what you've done.

This isn't just a sermon, it's very practical advice. Not only can you take it to heart - you can take it to the bank.

To Your Success,
Jim Rohn

7 Strategies To 7 Figures

I would like to share the 7 strategies Matt Morris (President and founder of Success University) used to help him achieved 7 figures income for six time repeatedly.

1. Dream BIG

You must first have a big dream if you want to achieve anything. And no matter how big is your dream, it is always too small.

2. Become an EXPERT

Become an expert in the area you wanted to excel in. You become an expert when you know more than 99% of the population. And by reading 5 books on a subject, you will know more than 99% of the population!
To absorb well and learn faster, read the books as though you are going to give a training on the subject after reading.

3. Create a Game Plan

Set a goal. Then set a deadline for your goal. Find out the purpose behind your goal. Why do you want to achieve the goal? Then create the game plan to achieve the goal with the deadline.
Breakdown your goal into smaller goals. Before you can earn $1 million, you need to earn $100,000 first. Before you earn your first $100,000, you need to earn your first $10,000. Therefore, breakdown your goal into smaller goals, and come up with the action plans to achieve them.

4. Massive Actions

Success = Work ethic * level of knowledge

When you do not have enough technical knowledge, you can always make it up with more efforts and still can achieve equal success. Therefore, massive actions = massive results.

5. Build Your Leadership

Become a leader that people wanted to follow. When you have the leadership and respects from others, they will be more willing to listen to you and follow your direction. And the way to become a leader is to become an EXPERT. Yes, read at least 5 books on leadership and become an expert, practice and do it until people start listening and follow you.

6. Build Your Vision

You become what others are saying about you. When people around you do not believed in your vision, you will start to have doubt in it. When people around you support your vision, you will be more motivated to achieve it. Therefore, move away from negative people and hang around with people who believe in you.
Furthermore, your experience in life will affect your vision. The past does not equal future. Do not let past negative experience become your excuses. What you say about yourself, what you say most everyday, is what you will become. Therefore, self affirmation is very important, make sure you are conscious of what you are saying, and replace all negative comments to positive. Remember that our subconscious mind cannot differentiate Rights from Wrongs and accept whatever information you feed it.

7. Take 100% Responsibility

Be 100% responsible for all results. Whatever problems you encountered, do not blame it on others. Take full responsibility. When you blame it on others, be it the weather, the unexpected incidents, or even sabotages from rivals, you become helpless. You cannot control what others are doing, and therefore when you blame it on them, you give up the chance to improve the situation. When you take 100% responsibility, you take it upon yourself, and when the results are not within expectation, you will always do self examination, try to find ways to improve and therefore become much better when similar situation occur.

Above are the 7 strategies that help Matt to achieve 7 figures income. It is not difficult to follow, but perseverance is the key to success. As long as you do not give up, you will always achieve whatever you set out to accomplish, guaranteed!

May this 7 strategies help you along your journey to Great Success!

Cheers!!

Success University World Tour in Singapore

Hi all, I believe by now there should be a lot of posts on Success University World Tour in Singapore on Wednesday this week.

I'm glad that I was at the seminar, where I am the first group of people in Singapore to witness the new video and magazine.

This was also the first time that i saw Matt Morris (The president and founder of Success University) in person. I can feel his passion when he shared his Vision and Mission for Success University.

Success is not only measure by wealth. Success is measured by all areas of life in family, wealth, health and happiness!

I'm glad that I am part of this wonderful University of Success, where I can access so many great resources from so many highly successful people.

To be frank, the energy level at the seminar is a bit low, perhaps it was Wednesday night where everybody is tired after whole day at work.

But I am one of the few that is very motivated by what I saw and heard. Because Matt's vision resonate with mine. When he mentioned Warren Buffett donating US$37 billion to Charity, I smiled because that newspaper cutting is still paste in front of my office table since last year June.

Yes, I want to contribute back to the society, to help as many unfortunate people as possible. =D

Although Success University is focusing on Personal Development, I realized that most of the students are focusing on the monetary rewards. They joined for the huge residual income potential, and pay no attention to those wonderful PD courses available.

Therefore, I really hope to find friends who are focusing on Personal Development, who love to constantly improve oneself, and friends who see the true values of Success University, to immerse oneself in Personal Development materials. Of course I love the monetary rewards that comes together with it as well!

I wanted friends in Success University to come together to discuss the various topics of Personal Development, how to improve certain areas of their life, and not purely just to discuss how much they are earning from the commissions and how to earn more!

So if you are into Personal Development like me who believe in self-improvement, do take a look at Success University, and join me if you like to. The courses are definitely worth many times more than the monthly school fees.

Cheers!

P.S. I have taken a few photos at the seminar, will upload it here once I got them from my girlfriend's camera! :P

*** Latest updates - Uploaded the photos! =D 21 September 21:48hrs ***

How To Become a Master Communicator And Influence People

How do we become a master communicator, someone who is always able to influence others in a powerful way?

What happens when we do not get the response that we want? We have two choices!

We can choose to blame the other person for not being receptive, for being unreasonable, close minded, stupid etc... But you know what? By doing this, there is nothing more we can do about it! We have shut the door on them.

For traditional communication theory, when two people communicate, both have an equal, i.e. 50% responsibility, for the success of the communication.

In other words, if A is talking and attempting to sell B an idea. A can do his best to communicate, but 50% of the success of his communication lies with B

If B has a closed mind and does not want to listen, the communication can never be successful. So is B to be blamed for the unsuccessful communication?

Unfortunately, people who accept this theory never become effective communicators. Why? Because by accepting this theory, we will always be limited as communicators. We will not always get the result we want! In fact we will seldom get the results we want.

Does this happen to you? You motivate your staff to work harder, they don't respond positively, so you give up!

You try to motivate your children to study harder, but it doesn't work, so you say, 'What's the point? They are just lazy."

You do your best to sell a product to a group of prospects, they don't buy, so you say, "I guess they are just not interested in this product."

A study of the most influential and impactful communicators in the world, revealed that they always took 100% responsibility for the success of their communication.

For example person (A) communicates an idea to person (B), and B did not respond successfully, still, person A would not lay the blame on person B.

Person A would take responsibility by accepting that his own communication was not effective. By doing so, A has the power to change the communication, until he gets the desired response.

Such great communicators adopt the belief that the meaning of their communication was the response they got, regardless of their intention.

To describe this further, if they attempted to communicate their sincerity, but the other person felt that they were insincere, they would take responsibility accepting that the meaning of their communication was 'insincerity', even though they intended to be sincere.

It could be their tone of voice or body language that made them seem 'insincere'. They would then change their communication strategy until they got the response they desired, i.e. being sincere.

We must understand that different people perceive the world differently. Everybody has different internal filters. When you tell a joke, a group of people may laugh while another group does not think of it being funny.

This does not mean the second group does not have a sense of humor. It is just that they perceive humor differently. As a great communicator, we must take responsibility changing our
communication (joke) until we make our audience laugh.

The power to communicate is one of the most important tools we have as human beings. In fact, our ability to achieve our goals largely depends on our ability to communicate and influence other people.

Taking responsibility and having extreme flexibility is the key to being a master of influence. Taking responsibility for the way we communicate and for the results we get, we attain absolute power over the effect of our communication.

Lessons From Evan Almighty

Recently I watched the movie "Evan Almighty" by Steve Carell. It was really funny and stupid, and I have had a really good laugh. By the way, the Evan dance was really ugly!! hahaa

But then I realized the movie was trying to bring some messages across. The very first thing I have learned was "ARK". Now then I know that ARK means Acts of Random Kindness! If we want to change the world, what we need to do is just An Act of Random Kindness at a time!

After the movie, I kept thinking about this phrase, "An Act of Random Kindness at a time". Big goals like changing the world start with small little things around us. If every person does an act of random kindness to the people, animals and environment around them at a time, this world will definitely become a much better place!

My girlfriend who watched with me remembered another scene, where god (who is played by excellent Morgan Freeman) asked, "When you pray for courage, will god gives you courage, or the opportunity to show your courage?" What a wisdom!!

God always answer your prayers! If you ask for money, he gives you the opportunity to earn the money! If you ask for wisdom, he gives you the opportunity to learn! Imagine what this world will become if everybody just suddenly becomes whatever he prays for! It will be chaotic! But God heard every prayers, and he always give you the opportunity to get what you pray for! In fact, he will keeps sending you the opportunities, again and again, until either you give up or you achieve what you pray for!

Ok, I need to clarify, I am not a Christian or belongs to any religion. I am not trying to preach here, but I have always believed that there is a god, an infinite intelligent, or whatever name you give him, that is looking after our planet earth, and everything that lives on it. And it is always easier to achieve our goals with his helps =)

I'm glad that other than laughing myself silly, I have learned something that reinforced my understanding and belief on this journey to exceptional living.

If you have not watch Evan Almighty yet, what are you waiting for??

Cheers!!

The Key To Absolute Power

Another great article from Adam Khoo.

Enjoy =)

Do you want to be in control of your life and create the results you desire? To be in a position of power and change whatever is not working in your life? Do you want to be able to change the people around you, the results you produce and even how you feel?

Most people believe that power and control are limited to the fortunate few who were born into power (e.g.: the tycoon's son), or acquire power through exceptional talent, business acumen or lady luck.

They believe (and we'll prove them wrong), that the rest of us are destined to be buffeted by whatever winds of change swirl around us. Economic slowdown, recession, company takeovers are the common winds of change.

The truth is, you do not need to have money or be in a top position to take control over what happens. In fact, people at the helm can also lose control...with much bigger consequences.

Look at the CEOs who watch their company's profits nose-dive helplessly in a bear market.

Or what about the US Army Generals who entered Iraq thinking that they were liberators of the people only arriving to find themselves regarded as invaders. Were they, the high and mighty in control? Not at all!

Taking Absolute Responsibility Gives YOU Absolute Power

The secret is to take absolute responsibility for whatever happens. That's right! When you take full responsibility for whatever happens, it means you acknowledge the fact that you have created whatever happens.

If you created it, then you have the power to change it. So, taking absolute responsibility for something puts you in a position of absolute power.

The extent to which you take responsibility over something is the extent to which you have control over it.

For example, if you take responsibility for your low pay, it means you acknowledge the fact that it was your actions and decisions that were the cause of this result.

Reasons could be that you are not creating enough value to be paid more; you have not demonstrated your true value to your boss; or that you chose to work in a company which does not recognize your true value.

Regardless of the reason or position you are in, you have the power to take charge and change anything in your life. The moment you take responsibility, you put yourself on the road to doing
something about it.

You can either find ways to create more value by going beyond what is expected, make yourself more valuable by upgrading your skills, ask for a pay raise or find another job that will pay you what you are worth.

When you start taking any of these actions, your situation will change... you will get paid more!

Taking absolute responsibility for your situations and results puts you in a position of absolute power. So remember every time you feel like blaming others or circumstances, stop and take charge!

An Email From Patrick

Today I like to share something very special. It is an email reply from Patrick, a friend I know through Success University.

I sent him an email telling him that having a mentor that you can speak face to face is very important, but his reply left a very deep impression on me. He spoke of his own experience, and why having a mentor although important, is not enough if you cannot find your own core desire, the truth!

Although I disagree with Jack Zufelt's argument that goals setting, visualization and all other techniques are useless, but I totally agreed that finding our core desire is the first and most important step towards our exceptional living. Because our core desire gives us the fire, the continuous abundant source of motivation and burning desire that keeps us going even in the most unfavorable and dreadful situation.

Enjoy the email excerpt below, it is really inspiring.

Cheers!

Hi there Albert,

I appreciate you writing to me.

I can understand how you feel about those things you mention becos I felt that way too initially.

here are some of the things that I had felt previously.

I felt that I needed to someone to kick me when I slack becos this was how I was brought up to think when I failed in my prelims for my O level.

My parents and my tutor forced me to stay at his place and he was really "kicking my butt! to get me back into focus"

However this was not the case for my mentor Jack Zufelt.

You see, my tutor was a motivator. I only feel motivated when he is there beside me to teach me and guide me.

When he is not there, I will be doing other things. It does not come from my 'heart' to want to succeed. And I had to depend on external forces for me to progress.

The difference between Jack and my tutor ( with all due respect to him) is that Jack reveals my core desire and truths that had set me free from procrastinations and self doubt that causes me to unleash an unstoppable conquering force in me.

I need not have anyone including Jack to push me to do things. Becos if Jack has to do that, it will not be something that is lasting.

I agree with you that having a mentor is very important

now, here is the unusual thing.

My breakthrus did not come from seeing or meeting face to face with Jack. I only met up with him once.

It was not his face or presence that made me see the breakthrus but rather the information / "truths" he had revealed to me and where I chose to Accept and Believe that causes my breakthru/

It was not by seeing him face to face.

I say that becos I had previously another "mentor" , Anthony Robbins whom I had a 3 day session with him.

However, there wasn;t a great breakthu even after spending time with this famous person.

The reason is that what he taught me his truth and I found out later that it was not The Truth.

There is this saying "the truth you know will set you free!"

Let me give you an example.

You see, when Tony taught me was his truth...to set goals, do visualization and affirmations to see results.

have you tried them before?

writing down your short and long term goals, visualizing yourself to success, cut out the dream house you want and say to yourself every day "I will become successful".

If you did, you will soon discover it doesn;t work.

The other funny thing is this.

It was thru listening to these telecalls and reading his materials before I decided to take Jack up as my mentor and fly down to USA.

Without such, I would have not gotten to have him as my mentor.

I find it tough to ask someone to go and get a mentor in "real person" without that student knowing who that mentor is in the first place.

And many a times, the best way is thru knowing the "to be" mentor is knowing their "background and information."

Here is what Jack and I have in common,

Our greatest mentor is Jesus Christ.

breakthrus after breakthrus came for me when I choose to believe in them and act on it when I read the bible.

I fully agree that being present with a person does help but if what they teach are not the truths, then it doesn;t really matter becos whatever result from it will last for a fleeting moment only.

Getting truths and believing in them is one that last for me.

Thanks Albert for your email and the sharing of your thoughts.

It encourages me to share with you what i have discovered after so many frustrating struggles in life,

I appreciate you
Patrick

The Story of Sylvester Stallone

Today I would like to excerpt a newsletter from Adam Khoo, talking about the story of Sylvester Stallone, who made his dream of stardom a MUST! He tried so many times, and rejected so many times, that average people would have given up long ago, and if he gave up, we would have no more Rocky or Rambo Blockbusters!

Surely one of the best examples of the power of commitment and how doing whatever it takes will get you what you want' is the story of Sylvester Stallone.

At his peak, Stallone was one of the most popular and highly paid stars in Hollywood, commanding a fee of US$20m per movie. Was he just born under a lucky star?

Was he a naturally talented actor? Was he at the right place at the right time? Hardly. He was someone who seemed to have all the odds stacked up against him.

His family was so poor that his mother had to give birth to him on the doorsteps of a school. A blotched delivery by students caused a facial nerve to be severed, leaving him paralyzed on the right side of his face.

As a result, Stallone had to live the rest of his life with slurred speech. He even had to deal with having a drooping lower lip and being made fun of because of his name 'Sylvester' (associated with the Looney Tunes cat).

Despite all these limitations, young Stallone dreamed of becoming an actor and inspiring millions of people through his movies.

As you know many young people go through a phase of wanting to be an actor, a star ...the difference between Stallone and the rest of youthful dreamers was that his dream was not a merely wishful thinking.

To Stallone, it was an absolute must. He was truly committed to doing whatever it took to make it happen.

First he enrolled in acting school and then started going for auditions. Predictably, with his wooden acting, his dopey looks and his slurred speech, Stallone was rejected for every part he applied for. But he never gave up. Doggedly he just kept changing his strategy and taking action.

The way he landed his first part is a fine example of how he was willing to do whatever it took. When he was rejected after yet another audition, he pulled up a chair in front of the manager's office and sat down, refusing to leave unless they gave him a chance.

After sitting there for hours, they were so moved by how much he wanted a chance that they relented and gave him a part. Although he appeared for a couple of minutes (as an extra), it gave him that first breakthrough he was after.

Unfortunately, that experience was followed by yet another string of unsuccessful attempts at getting another acting job. At that point, his wife told him to give up his 'stupid dream' and get a real job.

His reply was, 'If I get another job, I would lose the only thing I have got going for me...my hunger.' 'By quitting and getting a job, I would be selling out on my dream'.

Stallone eventually wound up so broke and desperate that he was forced to sell his dog for $50 in order to survive. It was the saddest moment in his life because his dog was the one friend he had got left.

At this, the lowest point in his life, he watched a boxing match between then world heavyweight champion Muhammed Ali and Chuck Wepner, an underdog that everyone thought would be defeated within three rounds.

What no one expected was Wepners' determination and tenacity. He lasted the total of fifteen rounds with Ali, just refusing to go down.

Sly was so inspired by what he saw that he had visions in his head about a movie that he was going to write. He started writing profusely for 72 hours non-stop until he finished the manuscript for 'Rocky'.

He was so excited by the script because in his mind he knew that this was going to be the movie that would change his life and his fortune.

But when he went round attempting to sell his script, everyone felt that it was too predictable and that nobody would be interested in watching a movie about boxing.

But he didn't give up. He kept on going and going until one company made him an offer of 125,000 for the script and the rights to make the movie. This should have made Sly overjoyed but his dream was to be an actor and not a writer.

So, he told them that the condition of sale was that he be cast as the lead actor. They objected saying, 'You're a writer! you're not an actor!' 'There is no way we will let you act!'

But Sly stood his ground and refused to sell the script if he wasn't the lead actor. They even increased their offer to $250,000, but Sly kept insisting that he fitted the role of 'Rocky', and no one else.

Although he was broke and hungry, he refused to sell out his dream for a six-figure pay check. That was his level of commitment!

Eventually they reluctantly agreed, on the condition that the movie be made on a shoe string budget of less than a million dollars and Stallone would get only $35,000 for the writing, directing and acting. Sly would however, get a percentage of the profits, if the movie made money. He agreed immediately.

The first thing Sly did when he got his money was to go in search of the man who bought his dog to buy it back. When he finally tracked down the man, he offered to buy his dog back for $100.

The man declined his offer saying that he was not interested. Sly upped his offer to $500. Still the man refused. Sly again upped his offer, this time to $1000. The man still would not budge saying, 'No amount of money will ever convince me to sell this dog.'

While most of us would give up at this point, Sly knew that if he was committed to do whatever it takes, he would find a way. Eventually he did get his dog back. He paid the man a whopping $15,000 and also gave him a part in the movie as part of the deal.

When Rocky was launched at the box office, it grossed over $225 million and was nominated for ten academy awards (including best actor), eventually winning an Oscar for Best Picture & Best Director.

Sylvester instantly shot to fame as an action star and lucrative offers came in for future blockbusters, which were to eventuate in First Blood, Rambo and the Rocky sequels.

His eventual success came from the fact that to him, becoming an actor was truly a must. He believed that when you are committed enough, there is always a way!

To Your Success,

Adam Khoo

The Wealth Paradox

Below is an article excerpted from Roger Hamilton's "Your Life, Your Legacy". It reflects perfectly the 60 seconds video that explans its definition of wealth, which i totally agreed with!

This is also the reason I am working hard to improve myself and my wealth intelligence!

Evelyn Adams won the New Jersey lottery not once but twice, in 1985 and 1986.

All $5.4 million of winnings has since evaporated - mostly into Atlantic City slot machines. Relegated to living in a trailer in a trailer park, Adams said, "I wish I had the chance to do it all over again. I'd be much smarter about it now."

William "Bud" Post won $16.2 million in the Pennsylvania lottery. He invested in a car and restaurant business. Within a year he found himself $1 million in debt and went on to declare bankruptcy.

To make matters worse, his brother was arrested for hiring a hit man to assassinate him so he could claim the winnings for himself.

"Bud" now lives on Social Security saying, "I wish it had never happened. It was a total nightmare."

While many of us deny that we would be quite as careless as Evelyn and Bud, why is it that so many of us continue to work so hard, earn so much and still have so little to show for it?

10 Virtually Instant Ways To Improve Your Life

This is a very nice article that I would like to share with all of you. Enjoy =)

~~~~~~~~~
Many of our problems come from within our own minds. They aren’t caused by events, bad luck, or other people. We cause them through our own poor mental habits. Here are 10 habits you should set aside right away to free yourself from the many problems each one will be causing you.
  • Stop jumping to conclusions. There are two common ways this habit increases people’s difficulties. First, they assume that they know what is going to happen, so they stop paying attention and act on their assumption instead. Human beings are lousy fortune-tellers. Most of what they assume is wrong. That makes the action wrong too. The second aspect of this habit is playing the mind-reader and assuming you know why people do what they do or what they’re thinking. Wrong again, big time. More relationships are destroyed by this particular kind of stupidity than by any other.
  • Don’t dramatize. Lots of people inflate small setbacks into life-threatening catastrophes and react accordingly. This habit makes mountains out of molehills and gives people anxieties that either don’t exist or are so insignificant they aren’t worth worrying about anyway. Why do they do it? Who knows? Maybe to make themselves feel and seem more important. Whatever the reason, it’s silly as well as destructive.
  • Don’t invent rules. A huge proportion of those “oughts” and “shoulds” that you carry around are most likely needless. All that they do for you is make you feel nervous or guilty. What’s the point? When you use these imaginary rules on yourself, you clog your mind with petty restrictions and childish orders. And when you try to impose them on others, you make yourself into a bully, a boring nag, or a self-righteous bigot.
  • Avoid stereotyping or labeling people or situations. The words you use can trip you up. Negative and critical language produces the same flavor of thinking. Forcing things into pre-set categories hides their real meaning and limits your thinking to no purpose. See what’s there. Don’t label. You’ll be surprised at what you find.
  • Quit being a perfectionist. Life isn’t all or nothing, black or white. Many times, good enough means exactly what it says. Search for the perfect job and you’ll likely never find it. Meanwhile, all the others will look worse than they are. Try for the perfect relationship and you’ll probably spend your life alone. Perfectionism is a mental sickness that will destroy all your pleasure and send you in search of what can never be attained.
  • Don’t over-generalize. One or two setbacks are not a sign of permanent failure. The odd triumph doesn’t turn you into a genius. A single event—good or bad—or even two or three don’t always point to a lasting trend. Usually things are just what they are, nothing more.
  • Don’t take things so personally. Most people, even your friends and colleagues, aren’t talking about you, thinking about you, or concerned with you at all for 99% of the time. The majority of folk in your organization or neighborhood have probably never heard of you and don’t especially want to. The ups and downs of life, the warmth and coldness of others, aren’t personal at all. Pretending that they are will only make you more miserable than is needed.
  • Don’t assume your emotions are trustworthy. How you feel isn’t always a good indicator of how things are. Just because you feel it, that doesn’t make it true. Sometimes that emotion comes from nothing more profound than being tired, hungry, annoyed, or about to get a head-cold. The future won’t change because you feel bad—nor because you feel great. Feelings may be true, but they aren’t the truth.
  • Don’t let life get you down. Keep practicing being optimistic. If you expect bad things in your life and work, you’ll always find them. A negative mind-set is like looking at the world through distorting, grimy lenses. You spot every blemish and overlook or discount everything else. It’s amazing what isn’t there until you start to look for it. Of course, if you decide to look for signs of positive things, you’ll find those too.
  • Don’t hang on to the past. This is my most important suggestion of all: let go and move on. Most of the anger, frustration, misery, and despair in this world come from people clinging to past hurts and problems. The more you turn them over in your mind, the worse you’ll feel and the bigger they’ll look. Don’t try to fight misery. Let go and move on. Do that and you’ve removed just about all its power to hurt you.
10 Secrets To Abundant Health (Part 6)
Secret 9 - The Power of Faith
Wherever there is faith, there is life!
Faith is the truth you pursue of all things in life, evidents that are not yet discover. Faith is the belief of your mind. It is the solution to all things, the hopes of all expectations, and the light at the end of the tunnel. Faith is a force that can shift a mountain.
Faith can be found in daily living, in our heart and in the ultimate power above. Although many medical professionals ridicules this saying, but it is a fact that these professionals refuse to see and acknowledge.
Faith is the bridge that links our soul with the higher power, power that is even stronger than our thoughts.
We need to have faith in the ultimate power that created our universe. People give it different names in the like of god, lord, infinite intelligence, etc.. whatever we call it is not important, what's important is having faith in such power that is much stronger than ourselves.
To achieve abundant health, not only do we need nutrients for our body, we also need nutrients for our mind and soul.
Faith is the reason for those "hopeless" patients to recover from their illnesses. Doctors call it a miracle, but the miracle is the result of the patient's faith.
The opposite of faith are doubts, fears, worries and sadness. All these are destroyers of health. This may be the reason why those people with faith are healthier than others, and recover faster when fallen sick.
Faith itself is useless without actions. If you do not change your lifestyle, and live in harmony with the natural earth, all faith in the world will not be able to help you, because nothing in this world can escape the control and influences of the universe.
Faith is totally not related to religion! The creator of the universe is the creator of everything, it does not belongs to a certain groups of people. Remember, faith is something that exists inside you, you just need to go and find it. Some times we are lucky as it always come with some events, for example, a crisis! =)
Secret 8 - The Power of Love
In the ancient scriptures, love is the most powerful forces in the universe. Love has the ability to overcome everything.
There is a true story of a traveler, who went traveling to the icy grassland in North America that are covered with snow. One day, this traveler was stuck in a snow storm between 2 villages. He was cold and exhausted, and not able to move 1 more step, he lied down and prepare to die.
But then he heard the sound of a little girl crying, he pushed himself up, crawl towards the sound, and finally found the little girl lying in the snow. He held the girl tightly in his chest, using his body to give her warmth. He decided to save this little girl. After walking for about 100 feet, they came to a little hut which belongs to the little girl. This traveler had not only saved the life of the little girl, he had saved his own life too.
This is what we call true love. Love without conditions, without asking for returns, and when we are helping other people, we are helping ourselves.
There are many laws in the universe, and the greatest of them all is the law of love. Because love is strongest and everlasting. With love, we can overcome all adverse circumstances, difficulties and illnesses. It is the most important condition to win the battle against illnesses.
Love is very important to health, as it is essential factor of life. Without it, life will lost its direction and meanings. Hatred, selfish, anger are all opposite of love, and these will create toxins in our body and harms us just like chemical toxins.
People with love recovers faster from illnesses. This is because when we feel love, our white blood cells will increase, special hormones will be released, helping us battle stress and pains, and as a result, patient's condition will improve. Few years ago, a hospital in London did an experiment to prove the effect of love on recovery. The night before patients went for their operation, the doctor in charge will visit each of them and explain to them the operation procedures. During this experiment, the doctor while talking to the patients, he must held their hands, and show them more concerns and cares. The results proven that those patients that are given more concerns and cares recovered on average 3 times faster than other patients.
We always receive love when we give. Therefore, we feel good when we help someone without conditions. The more we give, the more we receive. And with love, we can have abundant health.
10 Secrets To Abundant Health (Part 5)
Secret 7 - The Power of Posture
The design of our body is not suitable for long hours of sitting.
Your postures - the way you stand, the way you sit, the way you walk and all other postures are closely related to your health.
The systems and organs in our body require 2 things to function properly and healthily.
1. Good blood circulation
2. Good Nerve conduction
Blood transports nutrients and oxygen to all parts of our body, and cleanse our body systems while Nerve conduction is a must for igniting energy. Without one of them, our body systems will start to rot away. And posture controls the blood and nerve circulation in our body, as bad posture will block our blood and nerve circulation through pressures from badly positioned muscles and joints.
Looking at our spine, there are many blood vessels that went through them, and if we are not sitting in a proper posture or bend our back, these blood vessels will be squeezed and body systems and organs that depends on these vessels will be starved of the necessary oxygen and nutrients.
Therefore, bad posture will weaken the chest muscles, causing respiratory diseases. And weak abdominal muscles will affect the digestive systems to properly function, and often causing indigestion.
Posture not only affects our health, it also affects our moods.
How we stand usually will affect our mood. When a person is depress, his shoulder will drop and his back slightly bend, and eyes are looking down. Once we understand the connection between posture and mood, we can change our postures to control our moods and overcome depression. Postures alone cannot cure depression, but by changing to a posture of a confident and happy person, it helps to make the person feels better.
The first step to correcting our postures is self conscious! When you are aware of the importance of postures, you body will instinctively adjust itself to a better posture. A healthy posture cannot be forced. It must be natural and relaxed. When you lift your head, your shoulder and knees should be relaxed and not locked.
To cultivate having healthy postures, we must start with self conscious. Always be aware of our standing, sitting and walking postures, and start taking notice of your habits, and whenever you realized you are in a bad postures, take a deep breath and imagine you are slowly being pulled and straightened by a strength. Self conscious and correcting bad habits are very important.
The secret to correct posture is Balance.
Exercising over long term that uses only one side of your body will hurt our postures and causes unbalance. Tennis is a good example of imbalance as it only uses one hand to play. Parents who carry their baby in one hand is another example. Therefore, in order to have a correct and balance posture, we must correct the imbalance part. If we always play tennis, at the end of the game, we must stretch our shoulder to the opposite direction, if we always carry our baby in one hand, then we must always change and use the other hand.
Secret 8 - The Power of Environment
Fresh air, natural sunlight and low radiation are healthy environment a human body needs.
Our office are full of electronic devices in the like of computers, artificial lightings, projectors, air conditioners and others which emit high level of radiation and created unhealthy and unnatural working environment.
If we desire health, then we must create a healthy environment. We must ensure that our working, sleeping and living environments are healthy.
Fresh Air
Let's start with fresh air. We can go weeks without foods, few days without water, but we cannot survive without oxygen for a few minutes. But, a lot of people are working in air-conditioned offices and factories where the stale air is being recycled over and over again. How can we be healthy in such environment? We must open our windows and let the fresh air come in.
If your office is full of pollutants and chaotic, and outside are filled with smoke and dust, then you can either change your job, ask your boss to provide a air freshener or continue to suffer and breath in rotten and stale air.
Sunlight
It is a fact that we need sunlight to live. But in this world, anything that is overdose is harmful to our body. If we are exposed under intense sunlight for too long, there is a chance of getting sunburn, aging and even skin cancer.
Without sunlight, our body cannot produce Vitamin D, and without vitamin D, we cannot metabolic our calcium and therefore not able to manufacture bones and teeth. Without sunlight, the pineal gland will unable to operate, and pineal gland is extremely small but very important gland in our brain. It helps to adjust the density of our blood sugar and influence our hormone and mood.
Electromagnetic Radiation
Some components in the electromagnetic radiation from electrical devices like computer, projectors and others are harmful to our health. More and more signs have demonstrated that radiation amount not only related to migraine and skin cancer, it is even related to leukemia, unable to conceive and other cancers.
If you cannot bring your working environment into the nature, you can bring nature into your working environment! Open your windows to allow better lighting in the room, and grow some plants at your workplace.
Plants are the best environmental cleaning machine! According to research from NASA, it is proven that leaves and roots from normal household plants can absorb majority of the toxins and pollutants in the air, and at the same time absorb and remove excessive radiation matter.
Other than our own environment, we must bring the nature back to our world, and create a healthy living environment for our next generations.
