Better understated than overstated. Let people be surprised that it was more than you promised and easier than you said.

For effective communication, use brevity. Jesus said, "Follow me." Now that's brief! He could be brief because of all that he was that he didn't have to say.

You cannot speak that which you do not know. You cannot share that which you do not feel. You cannot translate that which you do not have. And you cannot give that which you do not possess. To give it and to share it, and for it to be effective, you first need to have it. Good communication starts with good preparation.

The goal of effective communication should be for listeners to say, "Me, too!" verses "So what?"

Learn to express, not impress.

Be brief on the logic and reason portion of your presentation. There are probably about a thousand facts about an automobile, but you don't need them all to make a decision. About a half dozen will do.

Effective communication is 20% what you know and 80% how you feel about what you know.

What is powerful is when what you say is just the tip of the iceberg of what you know.

It's not the matter you cover so much as it is the manner in which you cover it.

I first come across this video at Craig's blog, he is an Exercise Scientist and Trainer and his blog is is inspiring and full of resources. To quote from his blog on this video,

I have this experience myself. Whenever I am going to achieve my goals, Something will happens. Some very urgent matter i need to attend to and have to leave my project one side, or I made some stupid mistakes and it killed all my previous efforts, or I simply switched off.. refusing to think or work..


After listening to the one and a half hour audio on "Conquer Fear" by Lisa Jimenez (Success University Elective Short Course), I can relate to it on my personal experience. It explains that the 2 core Fears that we have,

1. The Fear of Failure
2. The Fear of Success

are affecting our life. The limiting beliefs that come with the fears cause us to fail without us even knowing it.


I like to highlight the Seven Truths of Fear.


1. Fear is the dominant problem in your life today.

2. Fear is a gift that was instill in you as a mean of protection and a way to bring you closer to god.

3. When you run from or deny your fear, You leave the gift unopened.

4. When your fear of success or fear of failure is exposed, you break through their control over you.

5. Your belief system is the driving force of your behaviour and your results.

6. Your everyday habits are broadcasting your belief system, your fear and your un-met mean loud and clear.

7. Change your belief and you change your behaviour. Change your behaviour and you change your results. Change your results and you change your life.


Do not be afraid to face your fears, tell your spouse, your close friend and even yourself of your real fears. Once you confront your fears, you will have control over them and your life.

Focus on How and Not Why!

Today I would like to share what happened to me 2 days ago. I invested $3500 in an internet program that promised to give back my investment on the 2nd day, and it closed down the 2nd day. Although $3500 is not much, it is all i have. Currently I only left with $140 in my bank account, with my next pay check on the 25th January, and unpaid utility bills, car loans, credit card bills and allowance for my parents.


When i learned that the program has closed down with all my money, the first thought that came to me is WHY?? Why me? Why am I so unlucky? Why this happened? Why so unfair? Why this and why that.. I was devastated.


After I have overcome the initial shock, i started to ask myself HOW?? How do I overcome this? How can I find the money to tide over? What are the lessons learnt? When i start to focus on HOW and not WHY, I started to think of solutions. I google to find more information, i search through my library of books to find inspiration, I know what i need this time, and that is to find enough money to pay the bills and most importantly gives the allowance to my parents so that they will not know something happened and get worried unneccesary! And I need to do it fast!!


While I search through everything and keep repeating how, how, how and think, think think, I saw this box below my table. It was the "Insider Secret to Internet Marketing version 2006" I bought 8 months ago. But since i received the package, I have only took out the book "Blogging For Dollars" to read, and apply its information, this is how this blog has come about.


The rest of the materials still lies in the box, and their plastic wrappers are not even torn off!! So I took out the box, and started to read. I spent yesterday and today to read and read, and the ideas just keep flowing through my mind.. and i have some ideas as to what I can do and what I am going to do.


The reason i tell my story here, is that I hope everybody realised that there is a lesson to be learnt here. And it is told in my title, Focus on How and not Why. We all asks why, why this happens to me, why that happens to me.. we all ask why. And by the Law of Attraction, when we focus on why, we focus on the negativity, and the universe will gives us the answers we ask for. So when we ask why, the universe will gives us the reasons, "Because you are unlucky", "Because you are stupid", "Because.." what else do you expect the answers to be when we ask why??


But when I focus on how, the universe will give me answers to them, and answers to how are solutions. I believed if i did not lose that $3500, the "Insider Secret" will still sit under my table.


Everything happens for a reason. And I firmly believed that the end results will always benefit me. So rest assured that I will be able to tide over this, I'm sure I will.

Why Success University?

Since 5 years ago when i first spent $18 and purchased the book "Rich Dad Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki, i was hooked to personal development. To get out of Rat Race and achieved financial independent has become my life goal. I have been spending thousands of dollar to buy books, cds and dvds every year to quench my thirst for more knowledge, until my friend introduced me to Success University half a year ago.


People joined Success University for 2 reasons. First they join for its earning potential. We can earn up to $40,000 every month by referring like minded people to enroll to the program. In fact, this is the main reason for majority of the members who joined.


There are another smaller group of members who joined for its vast library of personal development audio and video programs. When my friend told me about Success University, he introduce it as a money making opportunity, and i simply brush him off. I mean, i am making good money from other area, and i do not have the time to look into another program at that time.


Until one day when i was chatting with my friend on IM, he told me Success University is endorsed by Jim Rohn, Brian Tracy and other world famous motivational speakers. This immediately caught my attention. As most of you would have already known, Jim Rohn is my favourite motivational speaker of all time. So when my friend said Jim Rohn endorsed Success University, straight away i click through the link and check out the program. And i was like.. "damn, why i did not check out this program earlier!"


Reading through the training programs available, and the monthly subscription fees, i know i have found a treasure. Those courses provided in Success University are worth tens of thousands of dollar, and i can access them with a monthly subscription of $5o. I find it a huge bargain, so i signed up immediately.


Out of the courses offered, i loved the Weekly Success Plan from Jim Rohn the most. It covers all areas of life, one topic per week for 52 weeks! Anyway, i will cover the details of courses offered in Success University in another day.


This is also why when i set up this blog, I focus on personal development. Because I believed in attracting the like minded. Although attracting those people who wanted to do it as a business will definitely boost my passive income, but i preferred to attract friends who find the real values of Success University, which is its personal development courses, where we all know it is a bargain, and we can discuss the materials, and form our mastermind group.

Charting Your Course to Success Article

Today i would like to share an article from another remarkable motivational speaker Chris Widener. I'm sure you will enjoy and benefits from his wisdoms.

Simple Ways to Super-Charge Your Goals and Make Them Work! by Chris Widener

Goals. Most people have a love-hate relationship with goals. They love them because they are such a great idea and a wonderful way to motivate us to achieve, as well as evaluate our progress, but hate them because for many, they more often than not go unattained and simply frustrate them. This isn't what goals should do!

So here are some simple ways to set goals so that we achieve them! After all, what good is a goal if it isn't something you achieve? Here are some simple steps you can take to make sure that you see change in your life this year.

Narrow your focus. That's right, start small. Pick two or three areas tops, that you want to work on. Too many people say to themselves, "I want to do this, and this, and this, and this..." and they end up doing nothing! Most of what you do throughout your day can be done without a lot of mental or emotional exertion, but change isn't one of them. So focus down to a couple. This way you can get some victory in these areas. Here are some areas to think about: Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, Spiritual, Financial, and Relational. What areas need some work? Now, what one thing should be the first item on the change list? The others will come later, but for now, you should focus on two or three total.

Keep the long-term in mind, but set your sights on achieving your goals in the short-term. Do you want to lose 75 pounds? Good. Long-term you will. But for now, think short-term. Don't think about losing 75 pound by summer 2008. Think about losing 5 pounds by January 1st. This does two things. First, it makes it urgent. Instead of blowing it and saying, "Oh well, I still have 17 months to lose the 75 pounds" (because eventually that becomes 2 months to lose 75 pounds) your goal is only a few weeks out. This is better in terms of reaching your goal. Secondly, as you reach these shorter goals, it gives you regular victories instead of regular progress. Progress feels good, but achieving a goal is awesome!

Reward yourself when you achieve the goal. When you lose the 5 pounds by January 1st, go get yourself a grande whole-milk mocha. But just one! Then get back to your goal for February 1st. This puts a little fun back into the process of self-control and self-discipline. You will look forward to the reward and when the going gets tough, you will say, "two more weeks, two more pounds, then..."

That's it. I truly believe that it can be that simple for you.

This adds some ideas to the above article.
1. Don't bite off more than you can chew. Instead of saying, "I am going to quit my three pack a day habit cold turkey," say "I am going to drop to a pack and a half a day." You can always make new resolutions when you have achieved the first ones. Give yourself small victories a little at a time. Instead of saying "I am going to lose 75 pounds," say "I am going to lose 20 pounds."

2. Be specific in your timeline. Don't just say, "I am going to lose 20 pounds." Say, "I am going to lose 20 pounds by April 1st." This way, when you start to be tempted in the ice cream aisle in the middle of February, you can say, "Nope, only 10 more pounds to go in a month and a half and I am not going to blow it."

3. Post your resolutions where you will see them every day. This will keep the resolution in the front of your mind at all times. Instead of forgetting that you are trying to lose weight and ordering a big, thick porterhouse, you will have been reminded earlier that day that you need to go with something a little more on the lighter side. It will help your will beat your desire.

4. Find an encouraging person, who you respect, to keep you accountable. This person should ask you, at an interval established by the both of you, how it is going. They must be the encouraging type, though. If you are blowing it, they can say, "Well, that's okay, get back to it tomorrow." If you are doing well, they can say, "Awesome job. I'll talk to you next week." You will look forward to their weekly encouragement.

5. Find a partner. That's right, someone who is trying to accomplish the same thing (or something different if need be). Just make sure that they really want to change, or they will end up just bellyaching about how hard it is and you will both fall into the abyss.

6. Write down a list of all of the benefits that will come if you accomplish this. If it is losing weight it might be something like this: Feel better, better self-esteem, longer life, clothes are more comfortable, no more time spent sewing on popped buttons, wife says you look 22 again, etc. If it is quitting smoking, it may look like this: Better breath, no more brown fingers, no more wrinkles on my face, no more red eyes, no more smelly clothes, longer life, wife don't make me spend two hours a day on the back porch, etc. This will help you see what you will get from accomplishing your resolution.

7. Plan a reward if you accomplish your resolution. It can be anything from small to large. If you drop the twenty pounds, go out for dinner and dessert. Then get back to lose the next 20. If it is quitting smoking, go on a mini-vacation. Whatever you do, reward yourself. Or let a spouse or a friend pick the reward. Then splurge and enjoy!

When it comes to meeting and conquering the negativity in your life, here is a key question: what can you do, starting today, that will make a difference? What can you do during economic chaos? Let me give you the broad answer first. You can do the most remarkable things, no matter what happens. People can do incredible things, unbelievable things, despite the most impossible or disastrous circumstances.

Here is why humans can do remarkable things: because they are remarkable. Humans are different than any other creation. When a dog starts with weeds, he winds up with weeds. And the reason is because he's a dog. But that's not true with human beings. Humans can turn weeds into gardens.

Humans can turn nothing into something, pennies into fortune, and disaster into success. And the reason they can do such remarkable things is because they are remarkable. Try reaching down inside of yourself; you'll come up with some more of those remarkable human gifts. They're there, waiting to be discovered and employed.

With those gifts, you can change anything for yourself that you wish to change. And I challenge you to do that because you can change. If you don't like how something is going for you, change it. If something isn't enough, change it. If something doesn't suit you; change it. If something doesn't please you, change it. You don't ever have to be the same after today. If you don't like your present address change it — you're not a tree!

If there is one thing to get excited about, it's your ability to make yourself do the necessary things, to get a desired result, to turn the negative into success. That's true excitement.

Every Decision Affect!

Today I went for my IPPT (Individual Physical Proficency Test). I have passed all my static stations, and I need to run 2.4km within 13 minutes to pass the test. I FAILED.


I need to run 6 rounds around the stadium, 400m per round. We are adviced to run at a constant pace of 2 minutes per round. I tried, and managed to clock 4 minutes when finishing the 2nd round. But when comes to the 3rd round, fatique started to kick in and by the time i finished the 4th round, i have used a total of 8:30 minutes. Which means that i need to finish the last 2 rounds within 4:30 minutes. At that time, i thought I'm going to pass!!


I told myself, as long as i can finished the 5th round within 2:30 minutes, I am very confident that I can finished the last round in 2 minutes and PASS! But as I am almost out of breath, and struggling hard, when i cross the line for the 5th round, the clock showed 11:17 minutes. It took me 2:47 minutes to finish the 5th round!


That very moment, many thoughts ran through my head rapidly. I need to finish the last round within 1:43 minutes, very very difficult but still had a very slim chance. And yet another thought flashed across and it said, I took 2:47 minutes to finish 5th round, how can i possibly finished the last round within such a short period of time! At that very moment, i stopped and started walking. While walking and catching my breath.. I kept thinking, 1:43 minutes, i should be able to make it if i go all out. Then suddenly I decided to just do it... i started running... picking up the pace, overtaking others, i just keep running faster and faster, the panting became very short and rapid, and I cannot think of anything, but i kept running and dashed across the finishing line. It took me a while before i can catch my breath and look at my timing, and the number 13:30 minutes just stand out HUGE and BRIGHT to me.


The reason was, i took around 30-40 seconds walking earlier... and if I did not walk, but decided to run like what i have just done, I would have passed the test.


That moment when I chose to walk, it has already decided my result... even when i changed my mind and give my all out soon after, it is already too late.


This is life.. every decision we make will affect the result. Some time, the decision will decide the result, and no matter how much you tried to remedy later on, it will be fruitless. Therefore, we have to keep asking ourselves before we make any decision, is it correct? What will it affect? Is this the best course of action? And once decided, we have to give our all out.


It is okay to lose if we have done our best, It hurts the most when we realised that we can win if only we put in that little bit more efforts!!

Turning Off The Fat Genes!

Another one in four people cannot taste PROP and are called "taste blind." Their problem is they may tend to overeat, making up in quantity what they are missing in taste. If this includes you, and you tend to be indiscriminate in what you're eating, you'll want to take care to emphasize fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and beans, and to be very cautious about fatty foods and their hidden calories.

* A gene on chromosome 7 makes leptin, the appetite-taming hormone. In 1997, English researchers reported the case of two cousins who became extremely obese very early in life. They demanded food continuously and ate much more than their siblings. At age 8, one weighed 189 pounds. She had so much trouble walking she had to have liposuction of her legs. Her cousin was only two years old but already weighed 64 pounds. It turned out they shared a rare mutation blocking the leptin gene. With no leptin to curb hunger, their appetites were voracious.

You are not likely to have this same gene abnormality. However, your leptin may not be working perfectly either. Very-low-calorie diets disrupt its appetite-taming effect, causing your appetite to run out of control. The key to keeping leptin working right is to avoid severe calorie restrictions. If you eat at least 10 calories per day per pound of your ideal weight, you are unlikely to run into serious problems.

* A gene on chromosome 8 builds LPL, the key enzyme that stores fat in your cells. It waits along the walls of the tiny blood vessels that course through your body fat, and its job is to extract fat from your bloodstream and pass it into your fat cells for storage. If your LPL is doing its job a little too well, you can change this genetic tendency by choosing foods that have little or no fat in them. Once again, vegetables, fruits, legumes, and whole grains are your best friends.

* The hormone insulin, coded on chromosome 11, is part of your body's system for increasing your metabolism after meals. Depending on the type of foods you choose, you can help insulin spark a pronounced after-meal burn that releases calories as body heat rather than storing them as fat. Low-fat, vegan diets, along with regular exercise, make insulin more efficient.

* Believe it or not, exercise aptitude is largely biological, too. People who love to go for a five-mile run at the crack of dawn are genetically different from other people. They are endowed with a better capillary network that brings oxygen to working muscles and a more efficient fuel-burning mechanism. If you did not get these genetic advantages, you can do the next best thing. If you begin a regular exercise program and stick with it, your muscle cells begin to look more and more like those of natural athletes.

There is no need to be daunted by your family heritage. Yes, some of us will always be bigger and others smaller. But with a healthy, low-fat diet and regular physical activity, your genes can stop working against you and start working for you.

Growing Old with Maya Angelou

Another Beautiful story, reminding us it is not what happened to us but it is how we react that matter!

In April, Maya Angelou was interviewed by Oprah on her 70+ birthday.

Oprah asked her what she thought of growing older.

And, there on television, she said it was "exciting." Regarding body changes, she said there were many, occurring every day...like her breasts. They seem to be in a race to see which will reach her waist, first. The audience laughed so hard they cried. She is such a simple and honest woman, with so much wisdom in her words!

Maya Angelou said this:

"I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow."

" I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights."

"I've learned that regardless of your relationship with your parents, you'll miss them when they're gone from your life."

Nutrition Tip of the Week: Most Adults Do Not Get Enough Calcium

Did you know three out of four American adult's don't meet their daily calcium needs?

Calcium helps keep bones and teeth strong and helps muscles to contract and the heart to beat.

A lack of calcium results in the bone-thinning disease osteoporosis, which affects millions of American men and women. A good reason to try and get the recommended 1,200 - 1,500 milligrams each day.

Contrary to popular belief, the best source of calcium is not dairy products such as milk, yogurt and cheese. Although there may be more milligrams of calcium in dairy products - the calcium found in dairy is not readily useable by the human body.

The best source of calcium has always been dark green vegetables. The calcium in vegetables is already in a fully digestible state, plus it's combined with all the other nutrients necessary for optimum absorption, unlike calcium found in dairy products.

Weight-bearing exercise also helps strengthen bones. Include walking, running, dancing or other physical activity most days of the week to keep your bones strong.

Genes do influence our size and shape, but studies clearly show that if you change your diet and lifestyle, you can override hereditary effects to a great degree. Contrary to popular understanding, genes are not dictators; they are committees. They do not give orders; they make suggestions. You can counteract your fat genes and boost your thin genes.

We often think of genes as unchangeable because, when it comes to eye color or hair color, they really are decisive. If they call for blue eyes or brown hair, that's it. But the genes that establish your size and shape are much more flexible.

They need to be able to adjust your appetite and your calorie burning, depending on whether food is plentiful or not, and whether you are working hard or resting. Unlike eye or hair color, your body has to be able to change its composition from minute to minute, from day to day.

Although your chromosomes are extraordinarily complex, there are just five key gene groups you need to know about: *Taste genes determine the foods you crave. In taste experiments, scientists use a test substance called PROP (6-N-propylthiouracil). About one in four people can taste its bitterness very strongly. These people avoid grapefruits and never go near black coffee.

Although their acute taste sense is generally an advantage, the downside is they may avoid healthy vegetables, such as broccoli or cabbage, that have a hint of bitterness. If this group includes you, you'll want to find ways to flavor these healthy vegetables so you will include them in your routine.

Health, Without It, You can Achieve Nothing!

I have been having a bad headaches for past 2 days, and this 2 days i cannot do anything productive. I cannot write my blog, i cannot read books, I cannot learn from Success University, i cannot do anything!!! I can only swallow panadol extra and lie down on my sofa waiting for the headaches to go down.


But this 2 days reminds me of a very very important value that i have long took it for granted. And that is Health! Health is definitely the top value of all successful people.


You can write down all your goals, devise the best plan in the world, gather all the resources necessary, but if you are down with illness, you can do nothing!! If we are sick, we will not have the energy, the concentration to execute our plan. Therefore, health is always one of the most important value every successful person have on their list.


To quote Jim Rohn, "Treat your body like a Temple!", temple is a place where you take extremely good care of.


Many of us have been working very hard to achieve our goals, and in the process neglected our health. We sleep very little, working very late into the night, eat irregularly and skipping meals every now and then.. and little did we realised that slowly but surely, we get more and more tired easily, and our efficiency are getting worse, until one day we fall sick and everything has to be put on hold..


I will definitely make the efforts from today to stay healthy, eat healthy, do more excercises and make sure i will not be so subsceptible to illnesses and the persistant headaches. And I hope all of you will also join me to keep yourselves in the pink of health!

Do You Have Your WHY?

Whether you have been in the Industry of Network Marketing for a day or ten years, the steps and procedures are the same. Those same steps come into play if you are planning to build your home based business on the Internet.

The stairways to success in both arenas have the same stairs. We get to the top, one step at a time. There are no short cuts; the cost for success can not be gotten at bargain basement prices.

You will pay a price to succeed and you will pay a price to remain the same. You will have a modest investment to make in your business, an investment of time and money.

So what will give you that "Eye of the Tiger" look and feel in your life? The answer is easy, it's YOUR WHY! Why are you here?

Most people tell me they start a business from their home for the money! Not good enough!! Money ends in a Y, what is your WHY? Why do you want money? Need help? Here is a list of reasons I have in my life and some I have heard through my travels on these stairs to success:

  • A better home

  • A new car, TWO new cars

  • Helping your aging parents

  • Being able to send your children to the college of choice not what you can afford

  • Taking more than one vacation a year

  • Time Freedom

  • Freedom from debt

  • Donating to your Church or favorite Charity

  • Having the time to spend with those you love most.

You MUST know your WHY. It is what helps you get up and dust yourself off when life throws that curve ball and you have to bite the dust to avoid it.

Your WHY helps you pick up the phone and dial that one more call for the day. Your WHY is what helps you get through those FEARS.

Know what you want. Have a clear vision of where you want to go. Get a game plan a road map and plot it out. Keep your WHY in your sites and around you, get posters and pictures of your WHY or WHY’S. We think in pictures not words. You will never get what you want, you will only get what you picture.

Surround yourself with those pictures, get a road map (Your Goals) find a mentor and coach and it will be "Katy bar the door"!

Get your objectives established. You must have a direction and target to get to any destination.

Having a WHY is the FUEL.
Your GOAL or GOALS are the HIGHWAY.
And SUCCESS UNIVERSITY is the VEHICLE.

If you want "THE EYE OF THE TIGER" know what your WHY is and how you are going to get it.

Set your GOALS, find a MENTOR and remember there is no achievement without a goal.

You must know what you want, decide on your objectives and destination and how you are going to get there. Write it down and if you can’t figure out a game plan, find a mentor that will help you.

Look for someone who is where you want to be and ASK.

That’s what we did, we asked then we followed to the letter the advice we were given.

You can have it all!

You can do what the “nay sayers” said you couldn’t.

Reach deep within to that burn, that burn that keeps you up and going. As my dear friend Bobby Minor told me, "If your WHY doesn’t make you CRY, it’s NOT BIG ENOUGH!” Is your WHY that big?

Latch on to your why and hang on for dear life! Success is around the corner, and it has YOUR name on it…

Know what you want and why you want it!

And don't let anyone, ANYONE, steal your DREAM!

It's your DREAM LIVE IT!....

DREAM BIG!!!

Focus is the key to Success!

Hi my friends, 2 days ago i received an email from David Vallieres (David is one of the earliest internet marketer who have firmly established himself as one of the leader in internet marketing), and he told me about 5bucksaday. This course is teaching a very simple concept, FOCUS, just like some of the courses in my Success University.


So i went to the website and read through the sales page and it is so well written, and i can relate to it so much that i click the purchase button before i even aware of it! That's cool right? You can take a look at it, the website is same as the name. But right before i pay the money, i realised that i have not done what i always did, do a google on the product and check out its credibility!


And this program actually hits me hard on my head.. real hard! I have been teaching friends to focus. Do a research, find a credible company, join and focus on it until it can generate a full time income for you. Only until then should you go and look for a second company to start your multiple streams of income. Many people make the mistake of looking at a sales page, get so convinced by all its promises, and sign up. At a very short period of time, we all end up with 6-7 programs, and we simply do not have the time and money to promote every one of them. So surely and slowly, each one of them died leaving us dry and hopeless. I have made this mistake myself too. Now i have found Success University, i have learnt to fully focus on it.


But now i have found myself to be making the same mistake again without realising it!! I am not talking about joining program, but i am talking about marketing Success University. After doing a google on 5bucksaday, i found myself thinking real hard on why am i not getting the results i wanted for my Success University marketing efforts?? Then the ahaa moment, i am not focusing!! I am doing google adwords, adbrite, blog, traffic exchange, forum, email campaign all at the same time. I mean shouldn't that be the case, getting your ads out to reach as many audience as possible using as many methods as possible??


WRONG!


As i am doing everything together, i do not have the time and money to make each one of them work at getting its maximum result. For example, my blog, as i did not focus on it, i did not apply all the techniques and tricks to improve it until it get listed at the top of the seach engines. As my focus is splited, so are the result!! Same for my google adwords, as i did not spend all those time doing a proper research on keywords, did not check the optimal bid amount for each keywords, did not do a research on all the tools available to track the results, did not do a proper test on my ad headlines, body texts, etc...


Now I realised, each marketing method is just like a program, you have to focus on it, take your time to study it, do research, test out and fine tune until it brings you the best click through and sign up rate. Only until then should we move on and start a 2nd marketing method, then the 3rd, etc..


In fact, Focus does not apply only to internet business, it applies to all areas of our life, be it our career, our health or relationship with the family and friends. Once we learnt the true power of focusing, we will be unstoppable in all the goals we pursue.


So let's take an hour of our time out, sit down and go through all the programs that we have joined, picked one (make sure you do a proper research and knows that this program will be there in the long run, and the best bet now is definitely Success University), and promised ourselves that we will focus on making it a success, giving ourselves at least 1 year to do it. Then choose a marketing method and focus on using it until it can bring you the results you want.


So let's start FOCUSING to our SUCCESS!

Look in the Mirror - That is Your Problem and That is Your Solution by William E. Bailey (Excerpted from the 2001 Jim Rohn Weekend Event)

One of my favorite people, Winston Churchill, once said, "The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it and ignorance may deride it, but in the end there it is." Now I'll give you the Bill Bailey hillbilly version. "You might as well start with the truth, you are going to end with it."

The words I believe, the words I think, the words I feel, may or may not be true. The words I experience are true. Where you are today is the sum total of every experience you have had in your life. And you had the opportunity to say "yes" or to say "no". Whatever good happened to you, you ought to take credit. And whatever blame happened to you, you get that too. Because you could have said "yes" or said "no". Wherever you are is okay, because you are here. And if everything hadn't happened exactly the way it did in your life, you would not be here. You might have not survived.


Your direction is critical. Because one thing I will assure you of, in your life after seventy years of watching it, It Will Change! All positions are temporary. Take a look behind you. As Shakespeare said, "Straight satisfy yourself as the truth of it." And again I'll remind you. Whether you like it or not, you look in the mirror, that is your problem and that is your solution.


When I was very young I learned my first lesson in motivation, absence of options will create a very quick and powerful decision. I was born and raised in the hills of Kentucky, what you all call Appalachia. We called it just plain poor.


There were eleven kids in the family. We had six flat acres, the rest of them were on the hills. We plowed with mules. I was born in 1930, we didn't have paved roads until I was 15. We had electricity when I was 16. We never had indoor plumbing. So we were a family, but we walked to church together and we walked back together. We had a very unusual community feeling.


So one day when I was 15 years old, I was plowing corn. The last time you plow a field is in August and in August, it's very hot, it's very humid. Well, I was plowing about three o'clock, back in a place called the Dorsey Holler. And I, like most young people decided I was not going to plow anymore, so I spent about five minutes thinking up a nice lie I was gonna tell my father if he asked. So I backed up under this big beach tree, sat down, tied the plow lines of the mule up to the plow handles, lit a cigarette. About that time I heard a voice say, "What in the h__ do you think you are doing?" And there stood my father looking like a rain cloud about to burst. I quickly whipped out my best lie and said, "Well, the ground was hard and the mule didn't want to pull the plow." He asked, "Did you hit it?" I said, "NO." He said, "Well son you can hit the mule or I am hitting you." I HIT THE MULE!


Here is the next statement for you. It is a shame that we wait for something outside us to cause us to do what we ought to do ourselves. Why did I wait for someone to force me to do what I should have been doing? We should all be truly excited about the rest of our lives because we have the greatest single tool in the world called the human brain.


My first eight years of school were in a two-room schoolhouse. Woody Craft, a Baptist minister, was our teacher. Woody taught me something that I will never forget, because he made me an absolute fortune and he gave me the window into an incredible world. Every Friday, after lunch at one o'clock, he would gather all the two rooms together and he would read books like Pilgrims Progress, Call of the Wild, and Robinson Crusoe. And he read them in voices. I thought that was incredible. I thought, "My God what an adventurous world right at my fingertips." I learned to love to read.


After I learned to read, I then learned something else to further my reading skills. Because we were very poor, we used coal-oil lamps. Kerosene if you will. And my father did not like to have the lamps burn too long. When he said to turn that light out, what he wanted to hear was click, the sound of it being turned off. It was not a debate session. So I learned to do something that people now teach, speed-reading. Well, I learned to speed read because of my father. When he'd come home I'd have to cut wood for the stove, help milk the cow and feed the mule, so by the time I got a chance to read, I only had a half an hour left of daylight. So out of necessity, I learned to look at a paragraph until I absorbed it. And the funny thing about absorbing it, is it never goes away. It's always there.


In the same way, life asks us to absorb; absorb the experiences and the moments. For example, at times when I have been in the mountains or sailing far out to at sea, poems appear. Now I cannot write poetry, but over the last twenty years, I have had some come to me. I don't question where they come from. These poems come from a source, I'll leave it up to you to decide what that source is. I've never tried to make them come. I can now sum up my philosophy for you in a poem. As a matter of fact, about five or six years ago, someone got me to write them down in a book called Rhythms of Life. Up until that time I had never written them down, I had never seen the need to because I keep them in my memory. One day somebody asked, "Well what if you pass away and they aren't written down?" I said, "Well you know, there is no direct evidence I will ever expire, but circumstantially it is fairly strong. I may in fact do that."


This one poem sums up my philosophy. How I have lived ever since I came across the idea that there are no limits on what I can do or what I can be.


So I am going to do the poem for you. It is called "A Warrior's Song". This poem appeared to me when I was at Beartrap Lake, which is 11,400 feet up on the Eastern slope of the Sierras. There is about a four acre lake above the tree line. As I crawled out of a sleeping bag one morning, just as the sun came up over the ridge. It seemed to move through the meadow just like a wave of water. The wave of light lit the wildflowers and then it hit some snow over on the north side where it doesn't melt. And this is what appeared in my mind.


A WARRIOR'S SONG

The sun kisses a mountain top
And glistens on its face of snow,
And slowly climbs into the sky above
And lights the valley below.

For each of us that this day awakes
A miracle takes place.
For once again we walk our earth
And own all upon its face.

And the past regrets and foolish fears
Of yesterday's cloudy mind,
Are washed away by the light of day
And seem so far behind.

For each of us is reborn each day,
Our life renews again.
And with the help of God we will find a cause
That makes us want to win.

For a man without a goal in life
Is a man already dead.
His mind wanders from place to place,
And he walks with feet of lead.

He has no reason to stretch his mind,
No spirit to stir his soul.
His name is not even in the book,
When destiny calls the roll.

Better to take the wine of life
And drink both deep and long--
Greet each day 'cause you're here to stay,
And sing your warrior's song.

For the battle of life is joined, and
You might fight long and true.

3 Things you leave behind

Hi my friends, today i would like to share something different. Have you ever thought of what to leave behind for your children and love ones when you departed from this beautiful world?


I would like to share the 3 things that I felt are most important to leave behind (inspired by Jim Rohn as usual)


1. Our photos

A picture speaks more than a thousand words. When we are no longer around, photos are our life story. From the photos we left behind, they can see us cry, see us laugh! They can see the beautiful places we have visited, our friends and relatives that we spent our life with, and all the little moments in life! By taking lots of photos, we leave behind our beautiful life story in pictures, and that's the best gifts for our loved ones, isn't it?


2. Our library

Okay, most people do not have a library! But when i said library, it is those books we have collected throughout our life, books that inspired us, teach us and touched our hearts! Those books that made us a better person. All these books that have benefited us, when we pass them along to our love ones, they will benefit from these books as much as we do.


3. Our Journals

Yes, our journals. Those books where we scribble down all those magnificent ideas we come across in the restaurant, during a seminar or even during chatting with friends in a bar!! Journals! The wisdom of the world, written down in our own little books, tells them our life story, how we grow from a nobody to where we are today. Journals that records down what we have learnt, how we learnt and why we learnt!! Let our loved ones see that we are a hardworking student! Photos let them see, Journals let them feel it right from within!!


So these are the 3 most important things that i believed we should leave behind for our loved ones. Things that let them remember us, learn more about us, and at the same time, through them, become a better person.

Jim Rohn's Third Pillar of Success: Health

Part Four - Exercise


Welcome to the last week of Month Three with a focus on Health! This month has been a great one as we have focused on all the different areas of health and how being healthy in a holistic way will propel us even further down the road to a successful life.


This month when we've looked at health, we've looked in the context of humans consisting of three distinct parts or
layers: the Body (the physical nature), the Soul (the mind, will and emotions) and the Spirit (the part of us that transcends this world and communes with God).


We've covered these three layers in four different parts this month:


1. Spiritual Health - Three weeks ago we looked at the benefits and importance of developing a vibrant spiritual life and some easy methods to apply that can help take your spiritual life to a deeper level.


2. Emotional Health - The mind, will and emotions. Two weeks ago, we covered the importance of a healthy soul - specifically the mind, the will and the emotional aspects of life. We will look at how our inner person is so vital to making sure we live the kind of life we desire. We will learn how our emotional life can become healthy, strong and lively.


3. Physical Health - Nutrition. Last week, we began a two-part look at the body and physical health and we started by concentrating on the area of nutrition. It is very important to make sure that we fuel our body properly because our body gets its energy from the foods we eat, just as a vehicle runs off of the fuel we put in it. If we put the wrong kind of fuel into our body, it will not run properly. If we put the right kinds of foods in, it will run like the strong engine of an expensive sports car!


4. Physical Health - Exercise. This week we will look at the very important area of exercise. This is the area that most people initially think of. "I need to exercise", is the first thought that occurs to them when thinking of health.
And this is true, we do need exercise, and today we will take an even more in-depth look at this important topic.


This week we are looking at physical health again, with the focus on exercise. I am going to give you the benefits of exercise, and Chris will give us a few tips for getting a simple exercise program up and running.


This week I want to give you a good understanding of just how important physical exercise is. Chris is going to talk about the "how's" of exercise below, and those are important
- very important - but the underlying foundation for exercise - to really get us to take it seriously - are the "why's" of exercise. Why should we exercise? Why is it important? We have been told many times how important it is and yet so many people do not exercise. Why?


I believe it is imperative to understand the benefits of exercise and why we would do well to adopt a lifelong program of physical exercise that keeps us in tiptop physical health. You've heard me teach in my seminars that we should treat our body like a temple, not a woodshed.
Because the mind and body work together, your body needs to be a good support system for the mind and spirit. If we take care of our bodies, they can take us where we want to go with the power and vitality to get there.


So lets take a few minutes here and I'll give you my 7 Major Benefits of Physical Exercise:


1. Physical exercise strengthens your cardio vascular system and helps support your skeletal muscular system. The two major systems that keep you in shape physically are put into action and driven to health when you work out and exercise physically. A good workout gets the blood pumping, moving throughout your body, taking those nutrients where they need to go. A good workout gets your lungs working hard and expanding their ability to take in and effectively use the oxygen meant to funnel through your body. Working out gets your heart pumping hard and strengthening itself so it can continue to beat strong and hard for many years to come.
(Just do the math: Have you ever considered that a heart that beats an average of 70 beats per minute will beat 2,575,440,000 times in a 70-year life!? That is over two and a half billion times! You need to keep it in working order to go that long!). A good workout develops and maintains strong muscles so they can carry your body around and remains a good support for the rest of your life! Can you see how important it is, if you want to succeed and achieve a well-balanced life of health, to give a priority to physical exercise? It is imperative we take good care of our body because that is the only place we have to live.


2. Physical exercise raises your metabolism and helps keeps your body more finely tuned. Combined with the nutritional aspect we covered last week, these two keep your body as a system, humming along like the engine of an expensive sports car. Among other things, having a higher rate of metabolism makes your body work more efficiently, burning fat in the proper way and helps keep you at the proper weight. One of the most important areas of physical health is to have a properly functioning metabolism and a good workout routine can be a major contributing factor in getting your metabolism in the right spot. If you don't feel well, you probably won't do well, so invest the time in a good workout plan.


3. Physical exercise relieves stress. You know as well as I do that going about our lives in this day and age is stressful. There are so many factors that can cause stress for us, and the pressures can build the more successful we become. As you achieve more, there is more responsibility.
More responsibility can produce more stress. Participating in a regular workout program helps burn off stress. Your body actually produces stress-relieving chemicals that are designed to bring your body into a state of physical-emotional balance. This is done when we get our bodies into a vigorous state of physical exercise. So, if you want to have a little less stress in your life - exercise more - it helps!


4. Physical exercise helps you sleep better. Our bodies, while designed for action, are also designed to sleep regularly. Often because of other factors in our lives, many people today do not sleep as they were intended to. Foods we eat can interrupt our sleep. Stress can keep us from getting the sleep we need. But exercise can help counter-balance that. Good, hearty workouts can and will help your body come to a healthy state of exhaustion, which in turn helps you sleep better.


5. Physical exercise helps you feel better. People who are in a regular exercise program feel better about themselves.
Their bodies are healthier, and as they go about their day they have more energy and are more alert. It makes sense, doesn't it? When we treat our body right, we feel better.
And we feel better in all different kinds of ways:
emotionally, spiritually, etc. Remember, all of the three areas of our bodies are tied together and have an affect on one another.


6. Physical exercise helps us look better. Hey, who doesn't want to look better? We all do! A good exercise program can do that. Good vigorous exercise on a regular basis will help you lose fat, tighten skin and firm and tone your muscles.
Done right, combined with eating right, you will look great in no time! And let's face it, looking good will make you feel better - there is an emotional connection. Studies also
show that better-looking people as a general rule do
better in business. As much as people say it isn't right to judge a book by its cover, many people do, so we should give ourselves a better chance at business by making our cover healthy and fit - and better looking. So make sure your outside is a good reflection of your inside.


7. Physical exercise enables us to live longer. This of course is the best benefit. Obviously there are no guarantees in this life, but the fact remains that those who maintain a healthy state of physical fitness live longer than those who do not take care of their bodies. We should all have as a goal the idea that we will live long and healthy so we can achieve all we were meant to achieve here, as well as give ourselves fully to our families and those who love us and depend on us. A good long life, filled with love and success is what we should all shoot for, and maintaining our physical bodies is an integral part of that!


There you have them. Seven great benefits you receive from keeping your body in great shape through exercise!


We have covered a lot in this month of health. Take it to heart. Gain some ground on your health this month and in the coming year. You will be glad you did!
